“Great hotel for best views of beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Stayed here in May 2013. Hotel has lots of character with a homely feel. Staff very helpfull and friendly. The music around the pool throughout the day is very good. The breakfasts are good as are the evening meals, made even better by the proffesional service of Miguel Dias the restaurant manager, without him i reckon would be a little chaotic. Whilst there, it was my birthday and after returning to our room after a day out I was greeted with a bottle of iced bubbly and a dish of fruit, I thought that was a lovely surprise. This was our second stay at the hotel and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a see view.

We splashed out on one of the luxury rooms (520) this room had a fantastic view with a large balcony with two sun loungers two chairs and a table, there is nothing above as 519,520 are at the top of the hotel so sun until early evening.. Room was large with table and chairs flat screen tv and independent air conditioning, fridge, large comfortable bed. Large bathroom with walk in shower, bath, twin sinks etc. large patio doors onto balcony. Restaurant Manager looks after you and the food was good, wine reasonably priced. Maid attended room every day to clean and change towels. All staff are pleasant enjoyed stay and comparing with other hotels in the town, Boavista was the best location for us. Only criticism is minor repairs required in room (Latches etc) tv control missing, although reasonably clean would benefit from deep clean ie shower tiles etc, asked if I wanted to settle bill on arrival (refused). Would certainly stay again in 519 or 520

Room Tip: Higher the better fifth floor recommended 519, 520 are the best with nothing above.

We visited Albufeira for 7 days from 04/06. On arriving at the Hotel we were checked in promptly and given room 411. The room was not huge but large enough for us, the balcony a little small with 2 chairs and a table. The Hotel location was excellent being quiet as out of the way but not too far from the restaurants and pubs. There was a handy cut through using the steps at the back of the property but this closed at 21:00 and you would have to walk around up a steep hill if you got back after this time. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was ok so can not comment on the other offerings. The pool area was lovely and we were looked after by Miguel.
The only bad point of this Hotel was with our room being on the same floor as reception when some absolute t*t decides to complain at 23:30 and was shouting the odds until the early hours of the morning keeping us awake. All in all a great hotel.

Room Tip: Don't take a room too close to reception on the 4th floor as it can get very noisy.

Although classed as a 4* it certainly wasn't, the reception staff very friendly and helpful, rooms ok but not that large, small balcony, but adequate, bathroom adequate, only there for four nights on a hen weekend, but wouldn't like to be there for longer, the hotel was situated at the top of a hill, ok going down, but a bit of a climb coming back, the main town of Albufeira, was a good 20 minute walk, the views though we're lovely, breakfast was very mundane, a choice of about 4 different cereals, the bacon was a bit greasy, as we're the sausages, the scrambled egg looked like boiled eggs chopped up then fried, the fried eggs all per cooked, not that appetising. They did have several breads, butter, and a few preserves. Coffee very strong, was told the tea was no better. The lift in the hotel is very small, you need the lift to get down to the restaurant and pool, as it is built on a hill, there are slopes and steps everywher, a quick way to get to the town is down steeps steps from the pool, but gate closes at 10.00 pm Not a lot of restaurants nearby, possibly more open up in the high season.

Room Tip: Ask for one on reception level

Headed over to Albufeira for 10 days, stayed at BoaVista hotel about a 7minute walk from the Oldtown. The hotel was great, we were on the 4th floor, i gather the rooms get worse as you go down floors and better if you get the 5th or 6th floor. The staff were great, there was a brilliant guy in the restaurant called Manuel who disappeared at the end, he was sorely missed for his organisation of the place. The staff on reception were most helpful, the guys a bit better than the girls if I'm being a bit picky.
Definitely recommend the place, the weather was a bit disappointing, so we did spend a bit of time at the hotel and felt most comfortable.

Room Tip: try to get the 4th floor or over

Excellent location, not even 10 minutes from the old town square. Hotel is up the hill, and requires a bit of a walk, but again, all streets are more or less like that in Albufeira and you need a good walk after a tasty portuguese meal. Magnificient views from the room, which had a lovely balcony. The room itself had all the amenities we needed, and was clean. Breakfast offer was great, with a wide range of items from hot to cold food, and you could get it in the restaurant or in the terrace by the swimming pool, which was clean and refreshingly cold ( a great treat to cool off ).Reception staff, especially Veira was extremely pleasant and professional. We checked in early morning, and they managed to get the room ready for us in no time. Transfer back to the airport was arranged as well. We would defintely stay there again, and would not hesitate to recommend it !

My friend and I would go back to this hotel again. It was quiet clean and staff lovely especially Miguel in the dining room, great personality and so helpfu.l Its ideally situated near beach, shops, and restaurants. The only down side were the beds in 315 they are lumpy and hard.It is grest value and the breakfast had plenty of variety, and champagne if you fancy it??

Room Tip: 3rd floor nice view
