5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I stayed here for one week All Inclusive T the end of February. The apartments were stunning, as was the weather and the staff couldn't have been nicer. This was maybe because we took the time to speak to them. We met some lovely people and some not so lovely who moaned about insignificances. The walk to the old town was very pleasant and a taxi back at night was 3.50 euros. Go to Cabana Fresco for a top class meal on the beach front. The food? Breakfast and lunch were excellent, snacks available most of the day and dinner, if I was being highly critical could some nights be described as ordinary. This was the best value holiday we have ever been on, so please go and ignore the ignoramuses in previous reviews. Wonderful!

OMG - this is advertised as 5* Luxury - honestly its 3* at best and only if you go Self-Catering.

Pros:
Bruno, Marta and Alesio and the weather - sun for 8 days!

Cons:
Location - on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere - town/beach 25 mins away if you walk steadily.
Amenities - store on site opens only 0900 - 1300 but they fail to tell you this until check in at 1600 when you have been there since 1000!
Entertainment - there is none - the kids club only runs in high season and the room is smaller than a box room. A TV that has very few channels, no dvd player but 'on demand videos at 7euros a pop.
Cleanliness - a room that was cleaned but the bed had not been changed from the previous tenants, dust everywhere, grubby/stained walls, leaking showers and air conditioners that only blow hot. Dead bugs and ants that you have to treat yourself
Courtesy Bus aka the bus of death as the tyres are a bald as Kojak's head and nothing done despite voiced concerns
All Inclusiveness - never know AI to mean reduced rate...but apparently this is what it means here - you can get a burger with the works under the AI but ask for onions on a hot dog and you are charged 2.25euros...hahaha
Food - the food really cannot be described you have to experience it to believe it but regurgitated bests describes their policy. Many meals were derived from what was not used up from the lunch or the previous evenings meal.
My partner eats most things but really struggled for a plate on a daily basis...we ended up eating out daily as I could not eat salad daily with nothing else. The first few days we all played guess what the food was as they were not labelled - every one was moaning ...it was badddd.

Some people would say you get what you pay for- but when you pay for 5* AI that is what your expectations are and we were badly let down.

Recommendations: This resort is good if advertised as 3*, do not go AI and get a car - you will need one especially if are not prepared or uncomfortable to travel by bus or train.
Personally I would not return to this place to anyone nor recommend it. Very poor

Room Tip: Rooms nearer the centre of the complex as the road behind is noisy.

Stayed at the eden resort last week. The apartment was excellent, 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms nice view out back, and thats where the 5 star bit ended. The resort was very understaffed and this,I felt, made them fraught at times.I heard one of the bar tenders be quite rude to one customer for complaining about the wait for a drink (he had been waiting over 15 mins!).The bar itself was a ridiculous size and not designed for many people (don't know how they will manage when they start getting full) only ever one person serving (I suspect that this is done for a reason so that the amount he can serve is limited thereby keeping costs down)they stop serving all-inclusive drinks at 11pm and after this you have to pay! We found the bar too noisy and,as usual,in an all inclusive, full of British there were a number who showed themselves up by getting absolutely legless and spoiling it for others, not an ideal place to take children.
The restaurant is a joke (more like a works canteen). The food will keep you alive and great as long as you like plenty of carbohydrates (9 dishes- 2 rice,2 pasta,2 potato,1 chips,1 fish,1 meat) not sure why europeans think that brits. want chips with everything.

As I have said the apartments are great and the complex is good although there were no sun beds around any of the pools when we were there but it is very pleasant to sit outside your apartment. It is a bit in the middle of nowhere but they do run a limited bus service into town or you could walk it in about 30 mins,we hired a car for 4 days and I would advise anyone visiting to do the same.
I may seem like I am moaning a bit but I have been on a lot of all-inclusive hols.so I do have quite a bit of experience in this area and I can honestly say that this is the worse,I would have rated it less if not for the apartment.I would say that if food is not particularly important to you and you like to drink a lot then this place is for you,if not try somewhere else

Room Tip: all rooms appear to be alike

My wife & I booked a last minute short break to the Algarve & we selected this accomodation based on other reviews & value for money. We were not disappointed & would certainly consider staying here again. We stayed on a B&B basis in a one bedroomed appartment which was excellent. It had everything you need & was very spacious. What we really liked about the accomodation was that the appartments are more like maisonnettes in blocks of 4 in a very well laid out development.Breakfast was nothing special but was adequate. Others stayed there on all inclusive packages and we heard the evening meals were average but they still felt it was very good value. It is a little bit out of town but there is a shuttle bus. We had a car & we thought location was very good - easy to find & close to main routes.

Returned yesterday after a week at Eden Resort all inclusive. I didn't have a problem with any of the staff, and I suspect that people who do have such a problem, more often than not, bring it on themselves.

The apartments are fine – four or five stars, I'd say – but the dining arrangements are attached with sticky tape and some rusty nails. The dining room has the ambiance of a canteen for kids on a school trip. The food is acceptable, but more suited to "filling the tank" rather than the aesthetic of dining – two star, probably.

I have never seen so many builders bums gathered in one place. There are not what I want to see at breakfast. The cheap price does seem to attract the sort of people who – as I witnessed one day – drink themselves comatose and nerd carted to their accommodation in a golf buggy. Having said that, most of the people there were very nice; but it only takes a few.

You don't need to walk by the main road into Albuferia; there's a pedestrian path and a tunnel under the roundabout. It's not an unpleasant stroll, but after a meal and a couple of drinks in town you might want to take the taxi back.

Would I return to Eden resort? Certainly not on all inclusive. It would probably work best on self catering with a hire car to head out each day and see the Algarve. If I go back to Albuferia, I'll pay a bit more and stay at the RocMar with a balcony overlooking the ocean ... You get what you pay for.

Room Tip: If you like dining to be a pleasant experience, don't go all inclusive.

Just got back from a lovely weekend at the Eden Resort. After reading the reviews we had mixed feelings about what we would find but were very pleasantly surprised with what we found.
No problem at check in the girl on reception was very pleasant and checked in no problem, we arrived at 1 p.m. and check in is not officially until 4 p.m., our apartment was ready and we moved in immediately but the friends we travelled with could not have their apartment until 4 p.m. as it was in the process of being cleaned (they got their key about 2 p.m.). The apartments, as previously stated are of an extremely high standard but due to lack of care by visitors the furnishings are getting marked and stained! We had a kettle in our apartment but our friends didn't have one in theirs (luck of the draw), a powerful hairdryer is also supplied (I couldn't find this out before we went). Pool towels are also provided from reception, free of charge but you do have to ask for them as there is no mention of this anywhere either. The apartments have plenty of storage, an extremely comfortable bed and the telly has more English channels than usually found.
The Food:- This was the most worrying aspect of our holiday as the reviews all seemed the same (not great) but we were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast - full English, Continental, cereals etc. if you want a fried egg you have to ask the staff and it is cooked fresh for you in a few minutes and brought to your table.
Lunch/dinner always plenty of choice soup/salads/chips/potatoes and meat or pasta dish.
The food is not corden bleu but what do people expect, no one need ever go hungry and the four of us enjoyed everything we eat (too much!), it isn't piping hot (microwave supplied) but it's on par with most hotels we've been to and we are regular travelers. You get what you pay for and we certainly had a bargain at this one, some people have to find something to have a moan about or they don't feel as though they've been on holiday!
There are a couple of issues that need ironing out to improve the resort i.e. the bar area is very small and lacking in seating - it's a problem in March so must get worse as the season gets busier, with the distance from Albufeira most people stay in for a drink (or two) in the evening so they could do with a larger area than the one they have at the moment.
We hired a car for the weekend but again, due to the distance, the shuttle bus would be fantastic if it ran every hour throughout the day up until about midnight to save people taxi fares - it's a good twenty minute walk, but 10 minutes ride so I think alot of people would take advantage of facilities like that.
We found all the staff to be very pleasant and extremely helpful - treat them as you'd like to be treated and you'll never have a problem.
All in all a brilliant weekend at a lovely place!!

Room Tip: Block 1 - 26 gets the sun on the balconies most of the day.
