“apartment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

This is advertised as a hotel but it is apartments.Booked through travel republic,on arriving by shuttle at complex,we were unable to get in as it is gated,we had no key. After getting in we met 2 other couples who were also waiting to get in.After a few phone calls to travel company we were told keys should be collected at marina ,10 min walk away down steep hill. This was only complaint. The apartment was fab, bathroom with spa bath, double bed, wardrobes, fully fitted kitchen, dining area corner sofa ,tv,,very long balcony, great views to marina.2 pools ,lots of loungers.Tennis courts. No shop or bar on site, the area is about 15min walk to old town, very steep hill not suitable for the unfit ! The taxi cost about 6euros to get back from old town, the strip is a little further away.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view got the sun from 2pm till late, great for sunbathing nude,as no-one overlooks y...

Just returned home from a lovely stay at these apartments. Our apartment was clean and modern, had everything we needed. Had a balcony with beautiful views. The complex is immaculate, with two pools and lovely gardens.Umbrellas did not seem to be provided,so we had to buy one. It's on top of the hill,so is a steep walk down into the town.We got a taxi back every night for around 5 euros. We booked through Travel Republic, who did not inform us we had to pick up keys from a separate address! Please be aware of this when using some of the on-line companies. We love Albufeira and would definitely return to these apartments. We also recommend using Yellow Fish for transfers to and from airport.

Stayed in block H, FLAT 2B, stunning view.... fabulous apartment.Balcony runs full length of apartment so worth asking for Sea View. Furnished to high standard and well equipped. Cleaned daily Mon/Fri and fresh towels every couple of days. Pool areas spotless and plenty of loungers. No on site reception /bar or shop so worth getting a taxi to large Mondello Shopping centre for all you essentials. Set at top of steep hill so no good if any mobility problems. Average taxi price from Old Town is 5/6 euros if you struggle with the walk. Dont book through Booking .com as they give no instructions re key pick up... better to go through Owners Direct or Garvetours who will also organise transfers, ...excellent service.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view and at least second floor to enjoy spectacular views.

We stayed in a lovely penthouse apartment with everything you needed and fantastic views but the location was a bit out of the way. The walk down to the old town is fine but you really needed to get a taxi back and this was a struggle most nights as the taxis were extremely busy and we only managed to get a taxi 2 out of 7 nights.

We wouldnt stay here again due to the location being too out the way but the apt itself was fab.

My wife and I loved both the apartment and its location, as well as the fantastic Algarve Getaways.

Cannot believe the location comments as you can take a stroll down to the Marina or old town, and cabs are cheap. we only got a cab once in fact.

Great pool, great gardens, lovely top quality apartments with view to die for.

The location is a few streets back but within 5 mins you have a couple of bars, 10 to the old town. Which means you can chill in the day or party at night....without the noise.

I 100% recommend this complex.

We stay in this complex 3 times a year and it is beautiful.
Forget the previous post about it being in the locals area it certainly is NOT.
Around it they are other apartment complex ie: Albuferia Jardim, windmill apts and loads of stunning villas.
It is steep but that's why you get fantastic views.
The local shop is 2 MINS down a bank don't know which shop the previous poster was going to.
You might need a taxi back as it is steep but I have been pushing a buggy up the bank for the past 2 years it just depends what you can manage, taxi back is very cheap around 4 euros.
Lovely big pools for the children and no pool bar for the drunks = bliss.

Ive just returned from a one week stay in these apartments. I went with Algarve Getaways (who I have travelled with before and been really impressed it) but we were not impressed at all with this place. It is REALLY isolated. It is nowhere near any of the other tourist areas / apartments. It is located in a neighbourhood for locals. The "local" shop is an extremely steep walk downhill (10 mins), coming back up with a load of shopping is a nightmare in the heat, its really really steep. We are in our 20's / 30's and fit and found it difficult. The apartment itself was nice, we were just unlucky in ours I think because some of the facilities werent working (the safe, the toaster, the hob). We found it 100% necessary to use taxis when going into the old town or montechoro. We walked down during the day a few times (pleasant enough 15 minute walk) but its down an extremely steep hill as well. I have been to the Algarve many many times and appreciate it is hilly but this was unbelievable. Wouldnt chance it at night time after having a fall one of the days on the way down. We have 2 young children who were not with us on this holiday thank god. It would be totally unsuitable I feel if you plan on getting out and about with your children if you are staying here. We stayed in Parque Corcovada with our children in July 2010 and loved it. Very central, clean, spacious etc. Overall, we were disspointed with this experience. Its a shame because the apartments are nice but the location is a total put off.
