“Nice inexpensive break in the Sun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Just back from a week staying at CPO with a friend.

We had a two bed studio apartment, which was very clean and tidy and pretty spacious. Balcony caught the afternoon/evening sun and was quite big as well.

We stayed on a B&B basis and the food and service was great, no complaints at all. The Reception and Bar were quite classy and reasonably priced drinks.

The grounds of CPO are immaculate with lush rich greens. All over CPO you could see the gardens being continually maintained. CPO generally had a really good build quality throughout.

Beach is nice and clean, if a little rocky. Pool was very large and very nice.

Would really recommend this place!

Stayed at the cpo 9/513 with my brother we Had room 1223 the room is rather small for a studio appt the maid service was none existent on the fourth day I had to find a maid and ask for our room to be done but she told me that it wouldn't,t happen for two days I almost had to beg for clean towels as the ones that were there on arrival were now filthy.
The food was good although a long walk from our room to the diner - the place itself is VAST and was far too large a complex - we often saw guests wandering around looking for there room.
The shower was loose when we arrived and had completely snapped by the time we left.
We asked for extra pillows on arrival as the ones there were like dolls size - but we never got any
The sheets were not changed while we were there and not even straightened for five days.
Overall We would NOtT return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Give this one a miss if you want to enjoy your holiday

We returned from club praia oura 2nd week in may. I have to give cpo(as its known)5 stars. The apartment was small but perfectly formed and if you go down 2 flights of steps and then 1 flight you are on the beach, perfect. We heard the sound of the waves crashing on the beach every night. Cannot comment on the restaurant as did not eat there, but there are plenty of great restaurants and bars less than 5 minute walk away. we did have a problem with the safe on day 2 but within 5 minutes of reporting the fault at reception, the man was there to sort it out.The only 1 thing I would ;like to grumble about, is the fact that for 5 nights of our stay, the entertainment was poor. Some guy employed to sing, then at 10-30, Karaoke! Pleeease cpo make more of an effort! this is NOT what the majority of your customers want to hear. I think the empty bar was more than proof of this. But overall would recommend cpo

We travelled as a party of 3 adults and 1 child. My partner, child and I had a 1 bed apartment and our grandad had a studio right next door. Both rooms were perfect size for the the occupancy they are designed for. Everything you need in them from hair dryers, microwave, toaster and kettle to a fully stocked kitchen of crockery and utensils (even washing up liquid). It is a massive complex which is absolutely spotless all over, all staff are very friendly and most are fluent English - even though I do prefer to try and speak the lingo. There are 4 bars on site to suit all tastes, lovely pools with plenty of sun beds and the beach is right in front of you. If your 18-30 then the strip is perfect, it is a 10 minute walk away so you don't get bothered by the party goers if you don't want that kind of thing, otherwise walk the opposite way to find relaxed bars and restaurants. Prices vary, plenty of bars with 1.50euro beer or others 4.00euro beer but plenty to choose from so you can go cheap or go expensive and the same goes for food. The only disappointment I had was that I thought peri peri chicken was suppose to be spicy but I never found a spicy one, but maybe that's because UK has twisted it's actual taste to suit ours. I Highly recommend Portugal, Albufeira and these apartments and I would definatly return and I don't say that often. (Sorry for the essay).

Got a really good deal from KGB Deals and went last November. Weather was like late summer in England, good for sunbathing but not hot enough for the pool.
The entertainment was great, as was the pool area, the beach was just a short walk away and the restaurant was great too. Lovely gardens and lots of activities. Bruno on the animation team was fantastic! Loved joining in with the archery and pistol shooting activities during the day.
The apartment itself was a little dated but not enough to keep me outdoors, I enjoyed sitting in front of the tv in relaxed surroundings on rainy days. Lovely place.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner balcony

As a professional travel writer who has covered this area on several occasions I was really impressed overall and have to give CPO a full 5 star status.
Club Praia D' Oura hotel in Albuferia Portugal is really as good as it looks from outside.
Known universally as CPO, it sits right on the sometimes rocky beach at Praia D' Oura (when the tide is out) and while so big as to reach right up to the main road all the way from the shore, it retains great charm.
This area is really a suburb of Old Town Albuferia, reached by a relaxing walk along the main road (25 minutes) or a little more when detouring (via The Auramar and Monica Isabel Hotels) along the huge main shore, that becomes Fishermans Beach in the Old Town.
That said it may not be necessary to leave as there are superb cafes and restaurants on the shore, and English breakfast-style outlets galore on the main road (if for some reason that’s preferred!!!) and the evening entertainment in CPO is polished and professional, and really good craic!
There’s a medium-sized supermarket just a few minutes away from these English bars (underneath the CPO’s sister establishment, Oura Praia Hotel) and meets all possible needs, cheaply.
We were there on a never-to-be-repeated Thomas Cook offer that gave us 10 nights in a fully equipped ‘studio’ apartment, flights ex Belfast on Aer Lingus, a hold bag each and transfers for just over £200!! (yes…£200 each!).
Value indeed: the only minor problems were that two of our days turned out dull and cloudy and it even rained three times!!! Out of 10 nights that didn’t matter especially as our balcony (we were in Block K) wasn’t overlooked and got the sun from around 2pm until sundown.
Special mention must go to the porter who carried our bags through the labyrinth that is CPO - on first look anyway - who was a real gentleman. He hailed from Angola (but had returned with his family to the mother country as a child, we’re told). Well done there!

Room Tip: Avoid the Chinese restaurant along the seafront (west side of hotel). Prices that appear to be for t...

We, my wife and I have just returned from an excellent week at CPO. We had an excellent one bedroom apartment 404. It was very spacious with the exception of the kitchen which we did know about beforehand as being partial. The balcony was really big with our own sunbeds. We went for the breakfast option and this was really good value and plenty of choice. All the gardens are really well kept and the gardeners are continually replacing the plants, everywhere was exceptionally clean. The towels were changed twice in the week and the bed once midweek. Around the pool there where plenty of free sunbeds at all times, the weather was hot however the pool is unheated and took some getting into. We enjoyed the bowling green a couple of times when it was cloudy. The complex is right on a lovely sandy bay, nearby and on the strip there are some good restaurants, the Cockrel Country Kitchen excellent value main course 13.95 Euros for 2 main courses, around the corner the Chinese Happy House, on the strip O Poeta. Al the people were extremely helpful and friendly. There is not any air conditioning which I imagine you would need at the height of summer

Room Tip: Corner rooms seem larger
