“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

The apartments are in a great spot , 100 yards from Oura beach and 3 mins up-hill to the bottom of the strip . Small pool area , but who needs a big pool with the Atlantic on your doorstep ? Happy hour pint of beer 1.80 Euro , 4 to 6 pm . Very friendly and helpful staff , reception open 8am till midnight . It was 80 euros a night for a 1 bed apartment , sleeps 4 so 20 per night each is good value . No air con in apartment and I am the first to feel the heat but it was cool in the rooms . Shower head is not fixed to a wall bracket , so you have to hold it (apparently a water saving exercise ) . Popular with younger holiday makers but not rowdy

Room Tip: Most rooms face the sea -but not all , being so close its worth the extra for the view

My family and I loved it. Yes the beds are a bit firm, drink a few extra beers and you won't notice.
The place was spotless and I mean spotless. There are supermarkets very close and a bakery for fresh bread and pastries every morning. My only complaint is with the hordes of drunk people everywhere. But it is a vacation spot and maybe I really am turning into my father. The food ranged from okay to fantastic I honestly found the cheaper restaurants better value and sometimes better food. Its a crap shoot. With all that we had a great time and loved it and would return to the Golden Beach. BTW The staff were great.

Room Tip: Number 22 great sea view, But its an upgrade.....

Great apartments right on the lovely beach. Clean & comfortable apartment. Previous reviews said the beds were hard but we found them lovely! The only thing lacking was a toaster. Small pool area but very nice. Popular with young people as near the strip so can be noisy at night but would stay again.

First i would say to anyone who would have difficulty walking most of these apartments were up a lot of steps. They were cleaned everyday and very spacious. They could do with being upgraded a little but this would not put me off for the cheap price. The sliding door onto the spacious balcony was a little unsafe as it was impossible to close. We stayed in aprt (4) Views were fabulous. Very close to the beach short walk down a hill. At the end was a small supermarket on the left also found one on the same side of the apartments (right) in by the few shops that was much better. Lovely bakery there aswell. Most nights we got a taxi into the old town as the strip which started on the top of the hill was a lot of younger people. Taxi in was approx €7.00 and the staff at reception phoned for us without any problem. Reception were very helpful and nice to deal with. You do have to key in a 4 digit number after 11pm as they close the gates. There was a lot of younger people staying oposite the road however they didnt disturb us at all. Overall had a lovley stay here and would go again for the price.

Room Tip: I would pay for the sea view it is worth it. Ask for apartment on the lower level if you are no abl...

Stayed a week in May 2014 at this resort, in an apartment with a sea view from the balcony. Check-in was quick and easy even though we were 3 hours early, the apartment was clean and quite well maintained. Cleaners came in every day and even made the beds, sheets and towels were changed every 2 days. All the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful.
The kitchen area in the apartment is very basic but we ate out mostly so this was of no concern to us. The complex is very close to the beach and a shopping arcade and also close to the strip with all its bars shops and restaurants. The pool area is clean and tidy and the pool bar is excellent. The old town is only a short taxi trip away and well worth a visit!
All in all very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Try to stay away from a poolside apartment unless you don't mind music all day!

Stayed a week at these apartments , had a refurbished superior room with sea view . It was well worth the little extra for the view alone . We had room 15 at the top of the complex , a lot of steps to go up and down to the pool but if you go out of the gate it was only a small gradient which was much easier . We could not fault the apartment , spotlessly clean with maids in every day . The only fault we found that there was no toaster , but undeterred we used two forks either side of the bread and held it above the halogen hob........job done ! The pool was very pleasant with plenty of sunbeds and the poolside snackbar was superb , with " happy hour " from 4 till 6 . Reception staff were great and couldn't do enough for you .Close to everything , the beach , bars , restaurants etc , inparticular our very favourite NETO which is opposite the Chinese buffet near to the top of The Club Praia Da Oura . We have used this restaurant on several trips to Portugal and have never been disappointed once . Good food , good welcome , good service and very reasonable . All in all we loved our stay at these apartments and are already looking to book to go again in September .

Room Tip: Pay that little bit extra for a superior sea view room , its well worth it

Visited here for short stay with friends. Prompt check in and was slightly amused at the words of advice given by receptionist advising us to be careful due to our 7 man party and our behaviour and the local police, then shown to our apartment.
How very surprised I was, it was very very spacious and had everything u needed. 3 Bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs and large living / dining area with kitchen and second bathroom upstairs.
The kitchen has everything u need, kettle, microwave, 2 ring hob and plenty of crockery. Large balcony overlooking the sea. Room number 53..! Apartment capable of sleeping 8.
Pool is very small for size of place, poolside bar very reasonably priced.
As for location, 1 min to beach down a steep hill and steps so not too great for people with difficulties but still ok. Nightlife at the top of the hill 5 mins walk. I suspect can be very busy in peak season. Typical tourist strip.. Pestered to enter bars. Of all the places I've been to, this was the worst for beer stick to the bottles for authenticity. Lots of bars and eateries. Señor Frogs well worth a visit for quality pizzas.
Will definitely visit again, spacious clean and good location. Fresh towels daily and beds made.
