We are just back from a most fabulous short break at Quinta do Alecrim.

Our stay here really saved our holiday after accommodation we had originally booked had not come up to standard. Seems as if some think naturists want to live a bit like cavemen!!! ????

A lot of hard work has gone into this place, all we had to do was get there & it’s only 20 minutes from Faro. We really didn’t need to bring much with us.

We were sharing with our friends in the two bedroom apartment which was well equipped, comfortable & clean with wine awaiting us in the fridge. Towels are provided so that’s something we didn’t need to bring. It had its own roof terrace with stunning views down the valley to the sea.

Days spent lazily in the brilliant Portuguese sunshine at the pool & floating around on the floating loungers provided ….John offering us ice-creams on the poolside. …Heaven!

We had the most enjoyable evenings with Jan & john at their well stocked and may I say very inexpensive bar …with a PC, a big TV & a Wii available for our use (tuition provided).

The BBQ Jan & John had prepared from us on our last night was second to none, John’s a great cook! They remember what we say about our likes …and there they are!

Seems John’s good at a few things, he’s also an artist and musician! But above all he and Jan are the best hosts you could wish for. They are there when you need them but give you the space to enjoy your holiday the way you like it.

We will certainly be back 2012, maybe even later 2011, though we may well have to book early …this place is going to be in demand!

Steve & Carol

Room Tip: All apartments are really good but Casa Lemon & Casa Plumb are the best.

This was our first trip to a naturist holiday and as newbies went with the pensive idea of an all over tan. We were anxious but needn't have been. Jon and Jan have an excellent discreet hideaway where you really do feel as comfortable as you might be in your own back garden - except theirs has a super swimming pool, pagoda, excellent weather probability and a well stocked bar!!
Theirs also has a huge olive grove, lots of wildlife around and an excellent view down over the valley to the sea (which is about 20 mins by car away).
The accomodation is converted farm buildings and consists of 3 seperate self contained villas. Ours was a large 2 bedroomed villa with a well stocked fridge on arrival and fresh fruit. the Kitchen has a full size cooker and fridge freezer with complimentary tea and coffee. The room was clean and tidy with a sitting room area and a small library on the bookshelves and a stereo.

The all inclusive option that we chose actually turns out to be extreemly good value when you consider the really high levels of attention to service and very high standards of home cooked foods with fresh local and garden ingredients. Not to mention the well stocked bar again of course.
All towels are included so no need to pack loads of stuff - hand luggage did us just fine for a week.
Local ammenities are a little scarce with a lively pub for locals and ex-pats alike about 10mins walk and a small shop. In the event Jon and Jan do a daily shopping trip and were happy to pick up sundry items for us whilst they were out. I would recommend car hire for sight seeing though and Faro is a very nice cosmopolitan place to visit with its harbour and nature sanctuary with Flamingos galore.
We don't have anything negative to say really, it is an easy, relaxing, quiet, secluded get away from it all place to let it all just hang out!
Don't know what we were worried about really and it's loads better than getting sand everywhere. Highly recommended and will return.
