When you drive through the narrow entrance to Marvão, the first "square" you come to is the main square. The "Varanda Do Alentejo" is right next to it. We were met right there in the parking and shown to our rooms. There is a flight of stairs to climb. Both rooms (a twin and a double) were nice and overlooked the alley.
The double room was very spacious and had an additional sofa and a minibar.
The bathroom was refurbished and very clean.
The twin room was a bit more cramped but also very nice.
Rooms are air conditioned in case you need to close the windows that are right on the main alley.
There was free Wifi but reception was only in some parts of the rooms and in the small lobby.
The restaurant and breakfast area is right across the alley (another set of stairs to climb) and offers a beautiful view.
Breakfast itself was abundant with the regular breads, cheese and ham supplemented by yogurts, orange juice and a freshly baked cake that added a really nice touch.
Both the owner and his son were very helpful.
We all had a great stay.
