“Very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

We stayed there only one night in an apartment of two rooms and a living. The apart was very nice. The fireplace was great. Th weather was not our friend that night so we decided to enjoy the comfort and warmness of the hotel.
The staff was very friendly. They even offered us a bottle of regional wine.

The Quinta is only a few minutes from the center of Evora, placed in the middle of the countryside with a true farm feeling all around. I presume that during the summer it's a great place to enjoy the freedom and to be part of the nature.

Evora is one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal with its incredible historical sites

Lucia, the proprietor, was our tour guide in Evora today, by the recommendation of another local professional. She was knowledgeable, accommodating, organized, caring, and friendly -- definitely head and shoulder above other guides we've had.

Roomy appartments in a country setting. All have a terrace and well equipped kitchen. There is a nice pool and very hospitable owners. Lucia is a guide, knows the area well and offers nice suggestions for some off the beaten track trips. Will certainly reccomend this to other travellers!

We stayed three nights and between us we had two apartments, one large and the other small.
Its "rustic" but adequate and it was great to sit outside at the end of the day. Pool OK. Though temperatures just warming up when we got there early June.
Despite the countryside and rutted track leading to it, its handy to the city and dining out and the ring road. Hostess very pleasant and helpful. Cool drink on arrival and good advice. Housekeeper dealt to a large pile of washing for us.
So if you want a break from city hotels and some personal connection with people then this will be the place for you.
Parking under cover was appreciated on hot days.

Room Tip: There seems to be quite a variety of options. So ask to see what is available

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

I stayed here one night in March 2013 with my husband and 2 children in a room consisting of an apartment with two rooms, two bathrooms, and a living room with kitchenette. It happened to be a torrential down-pour when we were there (apparently this is very rare) and booking.com failed to forward our reservation, so you may take the review with a grain of salt. Despite the failed booking, the host was still very gracious and did immediately give us a room. It gets five stars for friendliness. However, based on our room, this place is in high need of renovations. The living room was damp and freezing (despite a real fire lit in the small stove in the living room) and the bedrooms were not much better. Everything was old, eclectic, and worn. There were many many spider webs. There is no dishwasher and it is clear that there is no professional cleaner for the dishes between stays because they had dried bits of food on them and we had to wash them before eating off them. The hotel is difficult to locate at the end of a long bumpy pot-holed dirt road and it is no where near the center of Evora. Given the other reviews, I was very disappointed. It would have gotten 2 stars if the proprietor wasn't so accommodating.

I stayed with my wife a couple of days on June 2011.
It was a little bit complicated to get there (I didn't have a GPS) but with the help of the locals and the owner, we were able to find the place.
For a trip around Portugal, Monte da Serralheira is a relaxing option.
Simple, comfortable, with a swimming pool, you will enjoy sunset having dinner in front of your room.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We stayed here for just one night so that we could visit Evora. It was a very tranquil spot that was great for an unwind after a day looking round Evora. Lovely hosts with lots of local info to give. We stayed in one of the 2 bed/2 bath little houses. It had a very well equipped kitchen which we utilised to save some money! Although small double bed, it was very comfortable. Kids fine in their room. I would highly recommend this for a very quaint and quiet stopover, or even for a longer stay - there is much to see in the area. We were very glad that we went to see the nearby dolmans and the huge menhir - wow what a sight!
