“Excelent, clean and shiny new”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

Really, it's extremely hard to find something to complain about this hotel. It's a extremely luxurious hotel (for me, at least), not that far from the town center (it's acctually far if you take into account that it's close to the wall of the city, but Évora's historic neighborhood is so small that you can be at the town center anyway with a 5-7 minutes walk). The rooms are modern and BEAUTIFUL, the bathroom is HUGE and has, like, two showers (I'm not sure all the rooms are like this) and a bathtub, and everything is sparkling clean and new.

It was not expensive when we stayed there, and it was great value for what was offered (I'm serious, one day the maids came to our room at the beggining of the evening to "prepare our beds for the night" - they remanaged the blankets and put little rugs beside each side of the bed!).

Last but not least, the breakfast was amazing - great variety and delicious. Loved the small square with cream and violet stuff on top - I think it was called Panna Cotta.

The only thing I didn't like - and that's really not important - is the fact that my sister ordered a sandwich one night and it came a little burned, and was WAAAY expesive (like 15 euros, I'm not sure).

If you want to see and walk the old town of Evora, this hotel is a great choice. It's very modern, very clean and the service is super friendly. We had just left Lisbon and had stayed in an old-world-style 5 star hotel...so we were ready for something modern. This place was it. We were right next to the huge aqueduct and less than 5 minute walk into the center. They have a beautiful big pool in the courtyard. We did not go to their restaurant at night but their breakfast was an excellent and bountiful selection. The beds were very comfy and the rooms were spotless. We pulled up our car on the street outside of the hotel and they offered to park it for me in their garage. They did not charge me to park the car or to stay in their garage. We ate at a local restaurant recommended by Rick Steves called Taberna Tipica Quarta Feira. I also wrote a review on this restaurant.
We walked the whole old town in 1/2 a day. I understand many people come here to see the megalithic sights outside of town...we did not do that. We were more interested in experiencing Alentejan culture and food.

I doubt there would be a better place to start off a holiday in Portugal. It highlights all the positive characteristics of the people, architecture and attitudes.

What is there to write that has not been written before? This is a very stylish hotel with beautiful exterior and cool white interior, that delivers most if not all that it promises, from friendly service at reception to spacious rooms and wide choice of breakfast (buffet). Minor points of attention are the small cosmetic repairs and maintenance that are becoming due.
We had the luck of having a superior room (with groundfloor terrace overlooking the garden and swimming pool). Standard rooms apparantly do not have this (neither a terrace nor a view) so please make your reservation carefully.

Room Tip: Superior rooms on ground floor are better price/quality than standard rooms.

We enjoyed very much our stay at the hotel. Very nice rooms, very bright, lovely modern design. From the rooms we can see a beautiful garden and a pool. Summer days are very hot in Alentejo, so a pool is a must!

The hotel looks great, they kept the traditional arhitecture on the outside and the inside of the hotel is decorated in a very elegant and modern stile. Our room was nice, except the fact that we asked for a double bed when we made the reservation and we got a twin room; also the view was missing, as we had a white wall in front of the window, we could only see a bit of the 'arqueduto'. But except all this, the beds were very comfortable, th bathroom was really big and functional with all the cosmetics that you would need, i liked the window that splits the bathroom from the bedroom. Also we fond in the room some cofee that we could prepare in the maschine from our floor and we could drink it there watching through the huge windows that have view to the pool and the terrace. The staff was very nice, when we parked the car there was somebody that came to help with the lugage (the hotel has a private parking that costs around5-6 euros/day, which i think is very convenient), at the breakfast we found a big varaity of products, all of them very tasty. Also we spent some time at the pool which was great, and we took a massage in the spa, another great place, where we were treated very nice. As a conclusion, we spent a really good time there and i would definetly go back.

Very well located hotel, excellent staff, very modern design, rooms and facilities.
Rooms are large, well lighted, bathrooms very good with tub and separate rainshower. Very nice view of the garden and pool which must be awesome in summer. Free underground parking with direct access to the hotel was very handy.
Bed is huge, kingsize and one of the best I've ever slept in, mainly after visiting the surrounding wine producers. Evora is a nice and little village with beautiful sights and some very nice restaurants.
Definitely worth the price. Paid EUR 128 for 2 people including breakfast.
