We tried this restaurant as it was mentioned in our Lonely Planet guide of Portugal describing it as 'simply irresistible'. Our Lonely Planet was the 4th edition dated 2003 and all I can say is a lot has changed since then!
We have never felt more unwelcome at any location anywhere in the world as we did here. We stayed for drinks that were served by sullen staff that obviously would rather we weren't there. Needless to say we didn't eat there preferring to take our trade somewhere else that appreciated the custom. If this is how they treat tourists then they don't deserve to still be trading.
An attitude such as this could leave a visitor feeling very unwelcome in Evora. Fortunately we were there 3 nights and were warmly welcomed without exception at every other bar/restaurant that we visited so thankfully it's not a true reflection of the majority of traders in Evora. Don't be put off visiting Evora which is a very interesting city, just steer clear of the Restaurant Repas!
