This past summer we took the whole family on a guided day trip with landolakes outfitters in canoes around Kishkebus lake in Bon Echo. It was a trip we had wanted to take for a couple years but didn't feel comfortable with. We took a bit of a longer way around as our guide suggested it would be easier on the kids. We put Sammy, our oldest boy (11) in a kayak, he loved it. Paddled all morning then had a great campfire lunch on a beach we had all to ourselves. There was no one else on the lake, it was great. These guys brought lawn chairs for a sit down, and we went swimming. Took a bit of a nap while the kids played then paddled back to the lagoon. Pretty cool day. Next summer the kids wanted to take the trip down from Mackavoy on the river, sounds great. One other family went with us that day, and we got to be pretty good friends, visited at their campsite one evening for a fire.
We highly recommend canoeing in Bon Echo, there is still lots of the park we have not seen.
