“Good hotel for Papeete!! Typical Radisson!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Overall the hotel was ok. Staff were friendly, facilities were excellent and the room was great. All have sea view.
Pool is lovely as is the black sand beach.
Advertise free wifi but only available at pool or in lobby.
Location isn't great as it really isn't near anywhere but if you have a car not an issue.
Food was the biggest let down. The pricing was ok but we found it not to be of the highest standard. Although this is typical of tahiti. Buffet breakfast was basic but not great - cleanliness a bit of a concern. Lunch and food ordered poolside was the worst. Dinner wasn't too bad but pricey.
As we used this hotel for business it was ok and met our needs. Recommend if stopping over, although quite far away from airport.

Warmest Greetings from Tahiti,

It is beneficial for hoteliers to receive realistic reviews, allowing myself and my team to further develop our service delivery, Thank you. The issues you have highlighted regarding the restaurant are most regrettable and I wish to confirm that the appropriate staff members have been informed of your comments and we are presently addressing these issues with all Food and beverage staff.

Great hotel and did not disappoint me.Only problem was that the jagged tiles in the swimming pool cut my finger-told reception but nothing done about it ?? Arrangements with the hotel worked out well.Cost of everything was acceptable to me because Tahiti is one of the more expensive destinations in the world.

I've been to better hotels half the price, but it's Tahiti, half way across the world.
In this hotel I payed US$35 for a simple restaurant cheeseburger with fries! It holds a record on my most expensive burger.
They did give me a big piece of cloth so I can place it on the sand and lay on it.

If you plan to go to town or a supermarket, it's not at walking distance. There is a bus stop right in front of it, if you don't mind taking public transportation.

They did organise a trip for me with other tourists. Which made up for my expensive burger!! LOL

I had 1O nights here as I was accompanying students on a French language exchange. This style of hotel is not my preference for a holiday but are certainly what I am looking for for stopovers. I had a beautiful room with 2 toilets, one full bathroom, two balconies, a full lounge etc. The view from every rom is fantastic and the black sand beach is good for swimming. The swimming pool is excellent and most of the time you basically have it to yourself. There is a range of dining, the pool bar has the best priced food but this information is not easy to access as there is no information in the rooms which needs to be rectified. The breakfast is what is to be expected but ensure you are there before 9am as there is not a lot left. The staff are fabulous, friendly and relaxed and have good English language. There is entertainment often, not my thing but fun if it is new to you. My only criticisms are the following; only two English speaking channels on Tv which are CNN and sport and even though I am an avid reader I had a lot of alone downtime so some TV would be nice.; the shower was very temperamental hence baths and not all the air conditioners work. There seemed to be exercise and yoga classes but there was no information on how to join in on these hence the need for information folders in the rooms. important to know is that it is easy and cheap to catch buses into Papeete ie 250 PF whereas a cab is 2000PF and they are pleasant. Also be aware that the closest services ie supermarket and pharmacy is in the opposite direction from Papeete which you can also catch a bus to easily.

Room Tip: The Spa seemed nice but was expensive so I did not use it.

We recently spent 2 nights at the Radisson prior to starting our cruise around the islands.

Room (Suite) was well appointed, comfortable bed and quiet. Black sand beach, nice pool.

We decided to have breakfast at the restaurant and thought it was expensive and average quality.

We took the free shuttle into town and picked up some breakfast things for the rest of our stay.

The bar snack menu was OK and poolside service goes some way to make you feel like you are on holiday.

We appreciated the hotel allowing us to use the facilities even after checkout so we could relax by the pool.

Great staff - so friendly and helpful - even though I do not speak Tahitian or French and many of them had English as their 2nd or 3rd language (impressive). Two staff members in particular made our stay memorable - Taputu who cleaned our room - she was so good at her job - and was so helpful. Also Taiti Maruake in the reception area - he helped Mum in and out of taxis and shuttle buses with a friendly word, face and smile. He was the one who took our bags to our room when we were so tired and hot when we arrived. Both wonderful. The staff in the restaurant were so lovely. Breakfast (prepaid) was great - especially the pastries (french influence) and the bacon (I don't usually touch bacon but this was amazing - crispy and solty and dainty). The hotel design is perfect for a resort - use of local materials - open spaces - canoe shaped sections of roof - giant sized Tahitian drum shapes suspended from restaurant roof (you get a bit of exercise walking from reception to your room - if this is a prob - you'd need to ask for a block close to reception). Pool lovely. Access to beach - a few steps onto the black sand. We loved how the hotel is not exclusively for tourists - locals appeared to come for happy hour, poolside lunches, Thurs and Fr night shows and dinner, TV interviews in the grounds, promos and launches beside the pool and a one-off big dance eveing on Sat. night (we couldn't hear it because we were in block 2). The beach is a real family beach - well used on weekends and of-course it was July end of school year holiday season so there was an entire vacation care day out on the beach one day - the kids had a ball and were so well behaved. We loved the family atmosphere of the hotel and loved not being surrounded by only tourists. Spa - awesome - I had a sauna, scrub and massage - my skin has NEVER felt so soft - such delicious choices to be made e.g. coconut or brown sugar scrub, Tahitian gardenia or vanilla oil (there were more choices than this). Facials sounded good enough to eat.

Room Tip: Ocean view suite - worth the additional cost - space and view!

We checked in for 1 night after being in Moorea and Bora Bora. The room was really nice and the bed was super comfortable. We had the buffet breakfast in the morning which was expensive but had a good selection. We were totally impressed that we were allowed to have the free use of their towels for the day, and use the showers in their spa later in the day, as we checked out at 10am but didn't head to the airport until 9.30pm. All in all, we were totally impressed with this place as a last stopover for our holiday :-)
