“Nice hotel with plenty of opportunities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We spent 3 nights in Raddison before our Bora Bora holiday. Nice hotel, but if you are staying longer get room far away from restaurant and swimming pool. Nice and spacious rooms with spa, we had 1404 with good view of ocean. Remember on this side of island beach is BLACK. Restaurant is serving good choice of meals, but if you are vegeterian plus GF than life is hard!!!.
Reception is very frendly and quick in booking your trips around island. Free shuttle to Papeete runs twice a day.
Book your trip around Tahiti with Dave - nice and very well prepared, takes about4-5 hours. For more adventures - 4x4 safari into interior valley. Recommended.

Room Tip: Far away from restaurant - block 1

Stayed here 2 nights, 1 on the way to Moorea and 1 on the way back. The staff are just wonderful, they upgraded us to the jacuzzi room both times and were so polite and helpful even at 1am and 5am. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we loved hearing the ocean while we were sleeping. The only small inconvenience we had was arriving so late we were starving but there's not a big selection on room service after 10pm, so bring plenty of change for the vending machine.

I stayed 1 night in March 2011, in my way to Bora Bora, precisely the day of the earthquake of Japan.
Right after I arrived to the hotel there was the alert of Tsunami. Since I had a room in an upper floor, they ordered me to stay in the room for the fear of giant tides. I learnt from TV the terrible things that had happened in Japan. I was shocked. Early in the morning the Tsunami alert was lifted and it was the time to go to the airport to take my plane to Bora Bora.
Hotel was very nice

My wife and I stayed for seven nights and found the staff very friendly and helpfull ,the room we stayed in was a little tired but the view from the balcony was fantastic .The breakfast buffet was great each morning, with a nice variety of breads, fruits, yogurts, and more. The pool was fantastic and beach area was alright but you wouldn't stay here for the beach , next time we come to Tahiti we will stay one or two nights at the radisson and then head off to Moorea where the beachs are superb .

Warmest Tahitiant Greetings,

We thank you very much for this post, this is a real pleasure to read this comment!

We are glad that you enjoy you stay with us at the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti.
Our Resort is the only the East Cost of Tahiti, the most savage part of the Island.
When you came from a tour on other Polynesian Islands with white sand beach, the black sand is very exotic !

We hope to see you again at the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti and wish you a great day.

Mauru’uru

We stayed here one night prior to catching our flight back home the following morning hoping to get some rest. This was a mistake. First of all, the hotel is 20 minutes or more from the airport. Second, the hotel has a bar above its restaurant that plays loud music until late at night. We were originally given a room that was above the bar, but asked to be moved. We were able to get a room at the furthest end of the hotel and away from the bar; however, the music is SO loud that we could still hear the music until late at night. Additionally, the walls of the rooms are very thin. So, don't expect privacy. We could hear our neighbors laughing and talking until late a night as well. It was if they were inside the room with us.

The rooms were below average and old. We didn't even have a proper shower! The shower fixtures were so old that I was afraid that they were come off the walls of the shower if I pulled too hard.

The restaurant didn't have the greatest food given how expensive it was.

The workers at the hotel were nice. However, if you called down to the front desk, it took several trials before someone answered the phone.

We would definitely NOT stay here again or recommend to any friends and family.

Warmest Tahitian,

We would like to thank you for the time spent in posting this comment.

Also, you probably arrived on Saturday 27th October 2012. It was a special Lafayette Sunset - Mojito Party for an exceptional re-opening of our Lafayette Bar, which has closed for 1 year and a half.

We choose to organize events there once a month to revitalize the Resort’s life.
For information, the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti is not a nightclub and the party ended at midnight.

We apologize if this event disturbed your stay in our Resort and take your feedback into account.

Kindest regards – Mauru’uru

My wife and I stayed at the Radisson twice in october and found this hotel very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the front administration staff. They helped us in the rental of a car at a good rate and advised us on the attractions to see.Happy hours are very good with half priced cocktails mixed by nice staff at the bar.As for prices at this hotel well I found them much the same as in New Zealand. The room we had both times were very clean and well appointed with great views of the sea. On the whole I would recommend this hotel to anyone, a very pleasant stay.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights (a Saturday and Sunday) before going to Bora Bora. Our room at the Radisson was huge and inviting, with a great view of the water. The bed and furniture were contemporary and very comfortable. The hotel is situated about 20 minutes away from downtown Papeete, which was nice on one hand to be away from the hustle and bustle, but a little challenging on the other hand getting back and forth. We enjoyed walking around and exploring Papeete and would love to have seen more, but taking a cab back and forth became expensive, especially after 8pm. (The hotel shuttle to Papeete only runs once Saturday morning, and not again until Monday.)

The breakfast buffet was great each morning, with a nice variety of breads, fruits, yogurts, veggies, meats, and more.

The pool and beach area are really nice and relaxing.

The hotel gym was surprisingly nicer than I'd expected, with several cardio machines, lots of free weights, and a rowing machine.

One of our only complaints about our stay here was that we couldn't get the windows in our room to close, so we listened to the water and waves each night, which was lovely, but unfortunately, this let lots and lots of insects into our room. I had several mosquito bites by the time we left, and there were tiny little insects all over the bathroom and livingroom area.

We do have to say though, that the staff working at the Radisson were all incredibly sweet and helpful. Vaea, Leticia, and Sofiene were wonderful! Also, the woman at the Activities Desk, whose name I can't remember, was great. We asked her for help taking a tour of the entire island, and she arranged a fun trip with a local tour. What a blast!

All in all, we had a really nice time here!
