Quite simply put, if you are in Ypres you have to witness this ceremony! It occurs every night at 8pm, and has done so since 1928 (there was a gap during the Second World War however), and is a truly fitting memorial to over 54,000 Commonwealth soldiers from WW1 who have no known grave. Members of the local fire brigade sound the last post, and it is very moving. On the five nights we attended, it was filled with people-get there early if you wish to have a good view.
