“A strange experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

You need to press the buzzer to get in the door. This foxed us for a good while! No menu as such just small, medium and large plates. To say there is no variation in the food, they took an inordinately long time to bring the food out. I think my experience was more about my tastes than the quality of the food. The food was fresh and very healthy, I am a vegetarian, but the food was just too vegetarian for me!

“Fresh, interesting veggie food, served with a straight face.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013 via mobile

Thanks to previous reviews, we knew to buzz the door, and we were automatically let in. Once we infiltrated the very clean and modern inner sanctum of De Bron, we were offered a place to sit by a rather straight laced waitress who seemed a little put out that we didn't understand the Dutch menu. She explained that they serve only one main meal in small, medium or large servings. What arrived was a plate full of fresh salad (rice, lettuce, cucumber, lentils and sweetcorn, and a green sauce containing finely sliced mushrooms, and an excellent garlic mayonnaise - all cold, and chopped carrot, cauliflower and a potato croquette - all hot.) The medium plate was ample and cost 11 euros, the apple juice was thick and home made, so much so, the straw stood on end! You pay for the meal via a desk on middle of the resturant. Our table, 14, was right next to the toilet door so, without going into unnecessary detail, try and avoid this table if possible!

“Veggie haven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

For haven you could read heaven! We researched veggie food options on Trip Advisor before we went on a short trip to Bruges. Be aware that most food in Bruges is not veggie friendly (but frites are!) Previous reviews were most helpful and a queue was forming at 11.30. Pressing the bell opens the door for you. The staff speak perfect english and explained the process to us about the mini / medium / large platters. We went for the medium and were rewarded with large plates with about 10 different portions of food. All of it was delicious and obviously very fresh. Would thoroughly recommend it.
They only open at lunchtime so you'd need to look elsewhere for a veggie restaurant evening meal, and the one other obvious place was closed Monday and Tuesday.

“Great find with amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Tasty and varied. Limited menu but what comes on your plate is varied and well presented. Exceptionally nice food and one of the best vegetarian restaurants i have been to. Mini plate is enough unless starving go for midi.

Service was friendly and welcoming.

Does lunch only till2pm and you have to buzz the front door to get it!!

Good value and lovely place to sit.

Green tea and bio cola were good. Little chocolate accompanies the tea.

Loved it!! Will be going back.
