“Good but a bit pricey.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012 via mobile

Was a little concerned by the reviews on quality of service, but was pleasantly surprised to find it OK. The menu was limited but the food was good. Location and atmosphere were great.

“You want to relax in the center of town Brugge ?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

They have great food and a great place outdoors to eat. You should ask for the history of the building - it goes back to the spanish occupation with Count Alva.

“Delicious food, warm atmosphere, sub-par service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

We selected Cafedraal as it had come highly recommended. The food--my special of white fish with orange glaze and couscous, and my friend's Beef Bourguignon--were very well executed. The atmosphere was also just what we had in mind--dark, cozy, and quiet. The service, however, was lacking.

While the garden was buzzing, we were the only couple in the dining room and it seems we were forgotten. There were long gaps between placing our dinner order, receiving our food, and asking for the check. Our waiter did not offer additional beverages, and he did not check on us once after our food was delivered. He reappeared more than thirty minutes after we had finished our dinners, to bring us the check. I understand it was later in the evening, but the well populated garden gave the impression that they were far from closing time.

This restaurant does have nice things to offer. Service is just not at top of the list.

“Not in the same class as others in Bruges of the same price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

I was staying in Bruges on business with colleagues and we decided to eat out together. Unfortunately
my restaurant of choice, the superb Kardinaalshof was closed that evening.

A Belgian colleague suggested "Cafedraal" as he had heard good things.

The food was average to good but the service left much to be desired. A wine waiter who repeatedly missed the glass ( cunning way to sell more?) then no apologies and left the table awash.

Sloppy attention to detail - wrong or missing cutlery, dirty glass. Plates thrown rather than placed.

Not surprised at the mixed reviews. Won't be going back and to think I suggested that we could have gone to the Olive Tree!
