“Honeymoon Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We've just returned from the most fabulous few days in beautiful Bruges on our honeymoon and we are so glad that we chose this small, idyllic, haven.
We had the "Bridal Suite" that spans the attic space at the top of this lovely old house.
With it's own sitting room,pretty amazing bathroom,and romantic,four-poster bed,it was really special.
Anne, the owner is a lovely person. She is really helpful, without being obtrusive.
Her breakfasts are super yummy with fresh breads from the local bakery and freshly squeezed orange juice amongst other delights.
Nothing was too much trouble for her.As well as being a mine of local information(she was born around the corner!)She found bubble wrap and wrapped the beer glasses that we'd brought to take home.
It's little things like that which make a place special and there really was nothing that we could find fault with or would change.
Would definitely return.

Room Tip: Only three rooms to choose from-all a really high standard, but the "bridal suite" that we...

We enjoyed staying at Anne's delightful B&B. Couldn't ask for a better location, walking distance to everything, restaurants, shops and sites. We arrived mid-morning and although our room was not quite ready, Anne allowed us to park on site, bring in on our luggage and spent a few minutes providing us with information about Brugge. The room was very nice, Anne has a great set-up and breakfast was more than complete. As this is an older house, be aware of the creaky floors.

Room Tip: Front room could be noisier because it is facing the street.

I just stayed one night but definitely will be back! I had the delightful and stylish front room with its gorgeous bathroom. Enormous and comfortable bed. Charming sitting area downstairs. Lovely breakfast. Yoghurt, ham, cheese, eggs, croissant toast. Excellent local advice - but the other reviewers have said it all.

I am from Brugge and have been living in Norway for the past 12 years, but twice a year I bring my family to Brugge for a visit. On those occasions, staying at Anne's B&B has been a fantastic experience. Whether it is her hospitality, the fabulous breakfast (including food she buys at the best bakery in town) the fresh orange juice, the beautiful and artistic decoration of the breakfast area and the house as a whole (the little penguin is my favourite)... You are in for a treat when staying at Den Witten Leeuw. The only reason why I have not written a review until today is my fear that our favourite room on the top floor, with views over Brugge, the garden with swimming pool and de Halve Maan brewery next door, will be booked out even more, and that my review here will have contributed to that. It's the eternal dilemma for people who have discovered a little gem.

One of those diamond finds that one feels so lucky to find and somehow its not in the top 5 on Trip Advisor which I cannot understand. It certainly should be as I cannot believe that there are so many better places in Bruges. Maybe its because it only has 3 rooms . Whatever, it is hard to fault.

Its a great character historic building that has been modernised tastefully , just 50 metres from the De Halve Maan brewery( try a Straffe Hendrick!) . Great double bed , lovely bathroom. We were there for Christmas market and Ice sculpture exhibition but would like to go in summer so that we could use the swimming pool and relaxing area . Location superb for walking round Bruges and on site parking makes it super convenient. Host Anne was as pleasant as anyone can be and very helpfully posted on an item which we had left behind.

An absolutely top location.

Our stay at B&B Den Witten Leeuw was amazing! Ann was so nice and had many helpful suggestions. We really wanted to have a "local" experience so we asked her to suggest restaurants off the beaten path that tourists just didn't go to. She came through in every situation! We will be coming back here many times in the future because this is the place where we got engaged!

The room was very nicely appointed, with all of the furnishings being very comfortable. The bathroom was quite large, with a very cool shower. The bed was comfortable, and the location was perfect. I have nothing but good things to say!
