An extraordinary Hotel! You enter by the Restaurant wandering what you`ll find. We were in the first floor. It`s huge and like living in a museum: a nice bed, a living room, a table with two chairs, and a wonderfull view to the Markt Sq. Sculpture, paintings, furniture....... spectacular!!!

My girlfriend and I travelled to Brugge with a group of friends who stayed separately, while we opted for the Suite at Huyze Die Maene.

They checked us in early without any trouble at 12:30. All the staff spoke good to perfect English. The 'business' side of my booking was faultless. Breakfast was served with a smile, and consisted of ham and cheese, rolls, croissants, fresh squeezed orange juice, tea, coffee, and scrambled eggs with bacon.

The place itself is superb, with the bar area seeming at first rather dark (but welcoming, especially thanks to the air con during the extreme recent heart wave). A small elevator took us up to the 3rd floor, and upon opening the door we were greeted by a much bigger space than I was expecting. The suite has a full kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge and cutlery etc all in place), a very large bathroom/wet room with additional shower, and a large open plan dining and living room with TV, sofas, desk, and 3 large windows that overlook the Markt.

Upstairs, the attic bedroom is full of character with the vaulted wooden ceiling making it feel extra special. There is absolutely tons of cupboard/drawer space everywhere... more than I have at home. And the piece de resistance, the private terrace off the bedroom has 5 or 6 comfortable deck chairs and a table. You forgive the huge lighting rig for initially distracting your immediate views to one side when you realise that it's actually your own terrace being used to illuminate the famous Belfry! Don't worry, this does not intrude at all on the room, and I invited my friends to spend time with us on the terrace in the early evenings where the rooftop views of Bruges, beneath the Belfry, provided a memorable backdrop to an excellent long weekend.

If I ever return to Bruges, I will be staying at Huyze Die Maene without doubt.

We were absolut satisfied with our choise. The hotel is just on the Markt Square in the heart of Brugge. It was a very large room and very very clean. People very polite and helpful. I think that i would stay again in this hotel, maybe there is a little noise in the morning because it is very central but not that much to annoy you. Very good value for money

Location, location, location.....or so they say? This unusual, well-appointed, friendly and centrally located brasserie with rooms ticked all the boxes for us. In a historic terraced row of stepped gable fronted former merchants houses, the restaurant served us flavoursome, well-cooked local food with an amazing selection of local beers. Always friendly and accomodating, the staff are a delight, they are helpful, engaging and simply could not have done more to make our stay a very pleasurable experience. We walked there from the railway station over cobbles in about 15 minutes, don't take a car to Bruges its NOT required!

Room Tip: We only saw one room which was massive and overlooking the Markt, amazing view and excellent braekfa...

We stayed in the room in picture one, that's really big, magnific, pompous and charming. The view over the big square (Markt) was terrific!
The staf was familiary, serviceminded and the breakfast was nice. We stayed for a weekend, thurs-sun and explored the city from morning to late evening :)
I do recomend other guest to wisit Brugge and Huyze Die Maene!!

Overlooking the Market Square with the ice rink and Christmas market our first floor room (the main picture) was fantastic - it is the whole floor. I agree with everything said by Damelisa's review about facilities and the food from the restaurant so won't repeat it.
The only downside is the fact that the closest parking is in the nearby Library car park (Tom Tom was a major plus to find the backstreet entrance!) But it is only a short walk, is inexpensive for the weekend and the same issue will apply to the majority of b&b in the city.
This was our fourth visit and I would highly recommend Huyze Die Maene as a perfect base for any visit to Bruges
