“Decent if tacky historical tour of the subject”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

Informative tour from cocoa discovery to the modern day fabrication of chocolate. For the most part it is crammed into small spaces. Came here back in 2008, and the only thing that changed is the addition of a lamp museum (no joke) for an extra price. Didn't opt for that. One or two measerly pieces of chocolate on offer.

“expensive and disapointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

7 euros to walk around and see less than whats in cadburys world in the UK was a disappointment, 1 choco button and one praline watching a man talk about chocolate was a huge disappointment, trust me save your money, google "history of chocolate" and buy some cheap pralines from Hema :)

“A tasty tour.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

Choco story gave us a history of chocolate from the Mayans and Aztecs up to modern times. Plenty of artefacts to see and some very beautiful porcelain chocolate pots and cups. In all we had 3 tastings as we went through the museum. One thing to consider is that it is over 3 levels so there are plenty of stairs to climb. There is a lift for the disabled to access all floors. The end of the tour gave us a demonstration of how chocolate shapes are filled, which was our last tasting session. We did enjoy the visit but children may just find it a bit long with all those stairs to climb !

“Discover the history of something you love!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

If you're visiting this attraction to gorge on free samples, think again! There are some chocolate discs out as you enter but it's an educational as opposed to a gastronomic experience. I did learn quite a lot about chocolate and specifically why Belgium became renowned for the product. The best part was the demonstration of making pralines at the end, but also the film about chocolate manufacture was very interesting. A good time-filler for a rainy or cold day in Bruges.

“Keep your hopes down!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

I am a chocoholic and expected alot more from this museum. The exhibits were dry and boring and not attention grabbing. The most interesting parts were the movie and the demonstration at the end. Do not expect any free chocolates except for one piece they give you after the demonstration. Overall it was just an ok experience.
