“BnB privacy with hotel quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

A fantasic BnB, Ideally located on the highly desirable canal side of the Bonifacius bridge. The building itself is beautifully desingned with a lovely historic feel.

As I'm usually responsible for booking the accomodation for my partner and I; I struggle to find places with such charm and charisma up to this standard.

The master suite is well decorated with stylish en suite bathroom, shower and WC.

A complimentary minibar is topped up daily.

And if you pay cash on check out there's a slight reduction in price.

The breakfast is typically continental but is very well prepared.

I would happily return and book another stay here.

Little pricy, but superb accommodation.
Great location for seeing everything Bruges has to offer, 5 mins walk to the main square.
Lynn is a great host, very attentive, and very proud of the Bonifacius. Unfortunately we weren't able to get the bedroom overlooking the canal, and our bedroom had a view of next doors gable end, and the other window overlooking the little street at the front if the building. But the room was finished to a high standard,, huge comfortable bed, complimentary mini bar, safety deposit box, seating area, Jacuzzi bath and walk in shower. Faultless. And apparently the room that Ralph Fiennes stayed in for a week whilst filming In Bruges.
Lynn also serves a great breakfast , with fruit, croissants and breads, meat and cheese, eggs and bacon.
We stayed here for 2 nights, especially for the new year celebrations on T'Zand. Great hotel, beautiful place and fantastic place to see in the new year, we will be coming back.

The sister guesthouse to the Pand Hotel.

I can't speak any more highly of Bonifacius. The rooms are wonderfully decorated, the service is attentive, breakfasts are high quality, and the location is one of the most picturesque you can find in Bruges. Small, initimate and romantic, this is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.

I would highly recommend the Bonifacius Guest House if you are visiting Bruges. The building itself is beautiful and as you eat breakfast you can sit and admire the view of the bridge, canal and church. The room where breakfast was served was decorated for Christmas with a lovely tree and had an open fire and comfortable sofa. The location is ideal with the main market square, churches, museums and lots of restaurants all in easy walking distance. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and have everything you could need. Lyne (the owner) was very helpful and provided us with lots of useful information about Bruges. I have nothing but praise for the Bonifacius Guest House and the service we received and highly recommend it if you are planning to stay in Bruges.

We booked the Bonifacius Guest House via a special package deal with Eurostar. The photos looked amazing and the location was ideal.

The real thing certainly lived up to our expectations. This is more than a guest house, it's like being in a friend's house. A very knowledgeable, caring, and solicitous friend mind you!

You might wonder why I didn't give this a five star rating, and in fact I would have, but for three small issues: when we arrived, though we rang the bell and rang the bell, no one answered. Eventually, we phoned the telephone number, another guest answered and let us in. Shortly afterwards, a staff member from the sister hotel arrived and spent an amazing amount of time with us, going through the Bruges map, booking restaurants, giving us advice. He was incredibly charming and showed us our lovely room. He noticed that we were missing bathrobes and said he'd have some sent up to our room - but they didn't materialise. We later discovered that something had gone wrong with the technology that links the bell with Lyne's phone, which is why we stood outside for a few minutes longer than we should have. Thirdly, I found the bed a bit hard. My husband thought it was all right, but I found it on the hard side (I am quite fond of a bed with a topper, I like sleeping on a cloud and often find hotel beds too hard, so make your own mind up about this one!).

The service we received during our stay more than made up for these issues. Miguel had overheard us talking about the film "In Bruges" and when we got back from dinner, we found the DVD and a couple of chocolates on our bed with a little note from him. Amazing service. Lyne had heard us speaking about Wifi and put a signal booster in our room as that room had the weakest signal - again, amazing service.

The breakfast was utterly superb. A gorgeous platter of fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice and a basket of gorgeous bread and pastries awaited us. All fresh, delicious and top quality. Then we were offered eggs! As well as this, there were spreads, cheese, ham and enough tea and coffee (also available throughout the day) to sink a ship. Gorgeous, fresh, loose leaf tea too, no tea bags!

The room was lovely, full of character, with a superb bathroom (jacuzzi bath and an excellent shower) with nice Hermes and Anick Goutal toiletries, and a reasonable hairdrier. Wifi throughout the guesthouse, DVDs available (though our remote didn't work the DVD player, that wasn't an issue, we just did it manually), and everything was immaculately clean.

The location could not have been better. Right on the canal with a breakfast view to die for. Two minutes walk to the canal, and to the Groening museum (I hope I spelled that correctly!), five minutes walk to the market square.

I'd love to go back again in warmer weather and sit on the beautiful roof terrace with a cup of tea.

The Stars of the Film In Bruges stayed here, and I can see why. Totally private, it feels like you are in a private house, not a hotel. If you want hot and cold running staff, this is not the place for you, but if you like your own space and amazing service, then I would thoroughly recommend this place. Lyne couldn't do enough for us, it was a superb experience and I hope you go to Bruges - it's fabulous and if you do, please do stay here (just not when we want to go back!).

We had read the excellent reviews of the Bonifacius and were not disappointed. Lyne was the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble. The building itself is full of character and very well placed for everything in Bruges. Our room was large with everything you need including: robes, safe, complimentary mini bar, a seating area and a marvellous view overlooking the canal. The granite bathroom had a luxurious spa bath and separate shower. The delicious breakfast had to be seen and eaten to be believed (you won't be needing lunch), with exotic fresh fruit, a hot egg dish of choice, meats, cheeses, jams, fresh rolls and pastries and was served in a gorgeous room, with an impressive fireplace, again overlooking the canal. My partner and myself usually make a point of not returning anywhere, however lovely, as there is so much to see in the world, but we may well have to make an exception in this case. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: "Clair Obscur" overlooks the canal - very pretty

Guesthouse is the wrong term for the Bonifacius and it gets 5 star reviews for a very good reason. This is a fabulous small hotel, without the hoards of people. Very pretty, very private and superb service. This is where the stars of the film "In Bruges" stayed and you can see why. We felt like we were almost staying in our very own private hotel. Note that in the UK you can book this hotel as part of the Eurostar deal and I have to say that we were simply delighted with the Bonifacius. We had a simply wonderful time and hope that you do too.

Room Tip: The "Master Suite" is the best of the 3 rooms and worth the little bit extra. The tour boa...
