“Lovely hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the city centre and consequently nice and quiet. A walk next to the canal soon brought me to the centre via Burg, where the town hall is, in to the main market area. So no problems with the location. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was large and comfortable though took a while to warm up. The food at breakfast was varied and good, plenty to satisfy most appetites. Moving round the corridors to get to the room was a little disconcerting as you need to put on the light switches, which in turn go off after a period of seeing you safely to your door. Once I'd got used to doing that it was OK but I would prefer it lit up all the time. Having said that, I would still visit this hotel another time around.

Six of us have just returned from a two night three days stay in Bruges, we have visited the city of a number of times and we are quite familiar with the city. This was our first time staying in the Rosenburg and we were all very impressed with the hotel, which is situated 20mins walk from the station and a lovely ten minute walk along the canal to the city centre, the area is also in a quiet side of town. Our rooms were all next to each other and even though we did not have a view of the canal the rooms were spacious, clean with large beds, tea/coffee facilities as well as the usual hotel room paraphernalia. The service, again, no complaints again, in fact the service was excellent. We had breakfast in the hotels, the dining area was very pretty and the Breakfast was very good. So overall would I stay in the Rosenburg again, as it is more than likely we will be returning to Bruges most definitely yes.

I really liked the location and enjoyed the stroll to and from the centre. The buffet breakfast was good. What was disconcerting were the dark corridors and fumbling around for a light switch. Also returning to the room late afternoons the room was cold. The room was very spacious . The door to the bathroom was weird as it was frosted glass and you could be seen through it. As the third night was free - we were on a deal I am not grumbling and would return if the rate was the same.

Room Tip: Room 202 was spacious -maybe the other rooms are as well.

About a 20 minute walk from the station along the river and about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Bruges. Very helpful staff we was able to leave our luggage before our check in time and after while waiting for the coach back to the port. Very clean and comfortable and nice and quiet we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.

It's ok. Not great. Tired decor and furnishings. Cold bathroom. Lumpy pillow. Peeling, yellow wallpaper and sad, long, dark corridors. Lacking charm. Sweet and apologetic staff though : they know the hotel needs a refurb and is trying to punch above its weight.

Although I was not a guest at this hotel, a very kind receptionist agreed to help me, when I came in crying, after having locked my keys in my car across the street... on a Sunday... and on my birthday. Knowing that a locksmith was going to be exorbitantly expensive, she called the local Opal service center, and within the hour, a very nice man and woman had managed to pry open the passenger door and reach my keys, still in the ignition. I cannot thank the hotel's receptionist enough for saving the day and salvaging my birthday. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

We stayed here for 1 night on Saturday night and the location is very good, about 7-10 mins walk to the Bruges city centre. You can also park for free anywhere outside the hotel or the area surrounding the hotel, but you need to display a blue badge that you have to renew every 4 hrs displaying the time until 8PM, as after that you don't need to bother to come back and change the hour. Also, it's free parking on Sundays, so no need to renew the time for the badge on Sunday neither.
You can buy this badge from everywhere and also from the lady at the reception where it costs 2.50 Euros.
Breakfast was nice in a lovely little room.
Nice hotel overall and would recommend it to everyone wanting to stay in a nice peaceful area and close to Bruges city centre.
