“Really enjoyed this!”

A great way to pass an hour. A cleverly executed 'tour' through old Brugges following the story of one of the assistants of the painter Jan Van Eyck while painting 'The Virgin and Child with Canon van der Paele'. A cleverly woven story taking you through the old streets of Brugge in the Middle Ages. It takes about 35 minutes, but there are lots of interactive and informative items leading you to the final viewing platform at the top of the building. Here you have panoramic views of the .Markt and beyond. We loved it!

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

We loved our visit to Historium. The story was well portrayed as we walked from room to room and we found the exhibition at the end fascinating. There were also excellent views looking down over Markt. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we returned a couple of days later and we enjoyed our second visit even more, picking up sights and smells that we had overlooked on our first visit. We really can't understand all the negative reviews on this site.

“Interesting!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

Very different to any other museum I've been to. Quite expensive for how brief it is but visually stunning and informative. I wouldn't advise someone to visit this museum if you're looking for a historical insight into Bruges past.

“Has great potential but disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

With a name like Historium, I was expecting to learn more about the great history of this once powerful city, but this was not the case. I will say that the premise of the attraction is very well done and was visually entertaining as you walk from room to room following the story. This is where they went wrong. It is a story, a love story of a young artist set in Brugge, not at all what I was expecting. This type of attraction also seems a bit out of place in such a historic city. It felt like an attraction at Disney World. I would skip this one.
