“Great B+B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2010

We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate a wedding anniversary and this B+B was perfect. The location is great and the garage was very handy. The room was spotless and comfy and the breakfast was nice. The owner was really helpful and provided us with maps and guides to the city, I was also 7 months pregnant as she was very kind asking if there was anything else I needed.

I spent 2 nights at Alegria together with my mom. The trip was my birthday present for her and we enjoyed every minute. We booked the "garden room" which is located to the garden site of the hotel. Calm, clean and nice view to old houses and a small tower. The rooms to the street are probably a bit louder so try to book the rooms to the garden. The bathroom is a bit small but equipped with everything needed and shower. The owner Veronique was very kind and lovely, she even made my mother a small birthday present and handed out a small city guide. We slept deep after walking two days through beautiful Bruges. Breakfast was varied and fresh with fruit salad, bread of different kinds and all sorts of cheese. The location of this comfy bed&breakfast is great since you only walk a few minutes to the market square where you can buy great french fries:-) Overall we will definitely recommend this b&b to our friends!

This was our first visit to Bruges and we came across this beautiful hotel quite by accident. Perfectly located just a couple of minutes from the Markt it was perfect in every way. No complaints at all. Veronique was so helpful upon arrival and gave us a great guide book of the area. Bruges is a beautiful place to visit made all the more better by sucha nice base to stay ! Thank you !!

I was fortunate to pick this small hotel for our visit to Bruges.
It is only 3 minutes walk from the "Markt" (even though I was walking slowly with a stick) and this means that you can get to everywhere so easily. There is ample off-street parking just around the corner from the hotel so if you are driving to the hotel there is no worry about parking.
I have travelled to a lot of places and my experience of budget hotels has normally been that the modest price means minimal service & attention, but not at this Hotel :-).
Nothing was too much trouble, the greeting was warm and friendly and the service and attention to detail made all the difference to our stay. My wife and I were made to feel that we were not only welcome guests, but also almost "de-facto" family members.
This was a trip we will not forget, and Veronique De Muynck above all made it all so enjoyable. Who say's small family hotels cannot beat the big chain hotels?

Veronique is very knowledgeable and seems fluent in a number of languages. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I stayed in the Garden room and my friends in the Zebra room, both rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything you could want, and I am sure if you had forgotten something Veronique would be only too happy too help.

I would definitely stay there again.

Secure parking.

We stayed here for 2 nights and could not fault the place - the location is as central as you can get and the owner was wonderful - nothing was too much trouble and she was very informative on where to go and what to see. Breakfast was perfect - eggs cooked just as you liked and plenty of other things to choose from. A real gem!!!

we loved the alegria !
great value and very welcoming. Our room was simply decorated but well -coordinated in its furnishings / kind of up market ikea!
the outlook was really pretty with a beautiful view of interesting architecture with lovely clipped gardens below.
the en suite had the smallest bath in the world! but it wasequipped with an integral seat and to be honest was absolutely fine with the shower overhead and lots of hot water.
The toilet seat was a bit odd but we think the olive room is designed for disabled guests also.
that is good on the part of the hotel owners to consider that aspect altho there is no lift as yet!! one coming next year as they are refurbing next door.
Veronique who owns the hotel with her family was absolutely lovely if not a little stressed with all that she has to do
although this did not stop her chatting and being a completely great host giving us lots of useful info on where to vist and great places to eat.

The location of the hotel is fantastic being less than 5 mins from the main square and all the activity.

We would 100% recommend this great b and b to anyone who is looking for somewhere inexpensive great rooms, delicious breakfast withfresh o/j and eggs cooked to your choice
perfect , well done veronique ! cant wait to see the new extension and thankyou again for a great stay in the amazing city of Bruges! Colin and Corinne /Scotland and London
