“A bit far out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Stopped here when Newcastle played Bruges and found the accommodation to be fine, the beds were particularly comfortable. We walked into the centre and this took 30 minutes, which was fine in dry conditions. The breakfast was a fairly standard, help yourself affair, with hot eggs and sausages, a choice of breads, cheeses and hams etc, with coffee, tea and juice, cereals etc. The staff were very helpful and patient, having to put up with a few people that perhaps found the Belgium beer a bit too strong. Friends who drove to the hotel said it was easy to find from the motorway and if i was driving i may well use this hotel, if i was on foot with limited time i would stay somewhere more central next time.

No issues here whatsoever with good parking

Easy access from motorway

I paid £46 through hotels.com mobile app which seemed a bargain

Rooms are clean with a recent refurbishment

Just watch out if arriving late as food at the nearby restaurants stops sharp at 2300

I booked this hotel for a 2 night break in Bruges to break up a camping holiday around Europe. When we first arrived it looked brill, and the free parking was a plus. Warm welcome by the staff at the front desk and reception and bar looked lovely. When walking to the room however, this opinion changed dramatically, the corridor smelt like a pub toilet and the room was terrible. It was dirty and looked cheap. The bathroom looked like the set from 'Psycho' , it was filthy and looked as if it was falling apart, the bathrooms in the campsites were pristine in comparison! The walls were paper thin, so expect to be woken up everytime anyone in the rooms around you so much as breath loudly! The hotel is about a 35 min walk to the centre which is further than thought and expressed on the website. The TV in the room didn't work but after a rude encounter by the reception staff they got it sorted.

Bruges is a beautiful city and will definately return, however will pay more to stay in a closer and cleaner hotel.

Just used Hotel for one night but was very pleased with the service. The room..(Trendy) was clean and adequate, Staff were very helpfull, Breakfast was good and the price was very reasonable. The receptionist arranged a taxi for us into Bruges for the day using a voucher system. well worth it if you wish to look around. Saves you having to drive in and find parking space. Hotel was also close to the motorway. All in all, very good.

Good place to stay for weekend break. Close proximity to City center, take car and park at train station for free bus shuttle. Bathrooms require refurbishment. No airco, in summer request for room in back where is less sun exposure in afternoon.

Stayed at this hotel on 11th July 2012, the hotel is nice enough if a little clinical but its location for a city break leaves a lot to be desired. It is a good half hour's walk into the centre of Bruges, situated at the back of the train station through a residential area. Check in was not until 3pm so we had to leave our luggage in a locker at the train station after arriving into Bruges at 9.30am from the ferry. A taxi from the train station cost 12 euros so from the centre of Bruges I would estimate 20. I would not recommend this hotel to people who just intend to have an overnight stay in Bruges, it is too far away.

I stayed in Brugotel for just one night for a business trip and was positively suprised by this hotel. Very friendly service, excellent breakfast and dinner and a nice and trendy bar. You can get there easily by car and yet it's only a 20 minute walk to the city center.

Room Tip: If possible ask a room at the garden side of the hotel. Traffic at the road side starts early in the...
