5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014 via mobile

Had a lovely 3 night stay here.
Location could not be better, around the corner from the heart of Brugge but not in the main crowd area.
Rooms are definitely European style but had everything you needed, just be careful if you are very tall and have a gabled room, may hit your head.
Staff very helpful and friendly, loved the idea we could rent bikes from the hotel and not have to find bike rental place. My husband asked for some bike adjustments and these were also done.
Breakfast had all the selections one could ask for and view was to die for, such a lovely garden and fountain to see each morning.

We stayed in one of the budget rooms which although small was lovely, comfortable and very reasonably priced, allowing us to experience the historical features and charm of the house and garden. The breakfast was first rate with plenty of choice and served in a room overlooking the gardens. The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the main squares but is in a quiet street.

Room Tip: The budget rooms are a good way to save money if you don't mind a compact room.

Hotel Jan Brito was absolutely charming... in a great location. We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard and plenty of space. Would definitely recommend the hotel to friends. Breakfast was also very good.

stayed for one night with wife and teenage children. Children got upgraded! Great setting and rooms are decent and reasonably sized. The building is very old which makes the rooms a bit more interesting in layout with beams and alcoves. Location is fantastic, less than 5 minutes walk to the bell tower (main centre of Bruges) Staff very friendly and happy to book restaurants etc. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. If you stay here go to the Park Restaurant, turn left out of hotel and 75 yards on left hand side

Room Tip: top floor as get the beams and alcoves

A lovely character hotel with excellent features. Reception area is small but who spends any time in this area. The reception staff are very friendly & nothing is too much trouble. We had room 26 which is located in a hallway but the room was very quiet & we never experienced any noise from any other rooms.
The room itself isn't the biggest but it as great décor, a king size plenty of storage space & a massive bathroom.
The big plus is the location, your only 2 minutes to the fish market, 5 minutes to Burg Square & 10 minutes to the main Markt Square.
Close by you can do the Canal Trip 7.60 euros per person. To the left of the Hotel is a park which features in the movie 'In Bruges'
If returning to Bruges we would definitely return here.

Excellent location and great to experiance the 17c character of the building although could be improved particularly initial feeling when you walk in to reception as was quite tired and given the price charged you would expect better. We stayed in a Junior Suite (room 27) which is more of a large room, lovely decor but looks out onto the lift and walkway so window blinds need to be down and it didn't feel particularly safe to leave the windows open at night. Also as it was on the ground floor opening onto an echo hall way the comings and goings through the external door was noisy, particularly at breakfast. However most of the time quite and peaceful.

Time travel to 16th century hotel.Real small and luxe hotel.Cozy room and good breakfast.Staffs are really friendly and helpful.Easy to reach the hotel from train station. Magnificent canal is just a footstep, large garden out the back, and nearly everything of note in town within reasonable walking distance.Everything is just perfect.
