“Perfect location, wonderful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

We stayed at the Jan Brito for 4 well rested nights! The hotel is a stones throw from the Markt and central Bruges, tucked away down a side street. We had a room in the annexe (which meant a trip in the 'unique' elevator!) which was beautifully presented and super quiet. Breakfast was great and served until 10:30! A real bonus for a few chilled out days away! Overall, a real gem!

The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The room was on the small side but that is expected in Europe. Had a bathtub that was unexpected and wonderful. We were in room 17 (the maid's room). What was not expected was a room without a window, only a skylight. Would like to have been told about that before booking. The breakfast was great.

Room Tip: Room 17 (the maid's room) has no window, only a skylight. Does have a bathtub.

The hotel had lots of character and charm many features have been retained despite being refurbished and extended. Our room was very comfortable lovely en suite. Staff are very friendly and offer good advice as to the places to visit. Good choice at breakfast. Pretty garden and tastefully decorated reception rooms. Walking distance of Bruges centre definately stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms are so different I would advise hotel of your specific requirements.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Room was lovely and very peaceful even with room window open. Great variety at breakfast and staff were all very helpful. Lovely garden to relax with a drink after a day of sightseeing. Baggage was kept safe on day of departure so that we were free to walk around without luggage. Would highly recommend to others looking for a hotel with bags of character. Loved it.

A delightful hotel which is incredibly near everything and everywhere while somehow managing to be quiet and peaceful. Our room was spacious and high-ceilinged, with generous bathroom. Excellent choice of breakfast served with smiles in light and airy room with view of pretty garden. In fact, all staff were friendly and helpful (one even producing a map of Damme, unasked). Only small criticism was that the front desk team sometimes seemed overstretched what with checking guests in and out AND manning the bar. A wider choice of better wines would also be appreciated by those of us who don't drink beer.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor - side street quite busy from early morning.

very good value for money hotel. close by the city center, at just 3 minutes walking distance.
oldy reception, but rooms are quiet and clean, very spacy, and the service is willing to help.
Just some of the rooms at the upper floor have a ridiculous window, facing a top roof, so you can see nothing, but still there are a couple of extra windows, so no real issue.

Loved this hotel, was in an excellent location, close to the centre. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, there is a good variety and plenty of it. We booked two rooms, our older kids had the family room which was great. Our room was very well decorated and had lots of character, both were very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, its reasonable priced and very welcoming.
