“Our second time and will defiantly stay again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

We have stayed in this hotel in summer 2012 and decided to stay again this year purely down to the whole experience....
Rooms.. we stayed in 16 and again this year... lots of space.. nice big bed and decent bathroom...
Staff.. are super friendly and always happy to help and point you in the right direction for a nice meal or if your after good nightlife! They couldn't be any more pleasant then the blonde lady we didn't catch her name but she's so helpful and always so welcoming.
Breakfast... faultless.... good choice from cooked breakfast to fruit and yogurt
Overall it's a top hotel for reasonable prices we will be back...

We have just returned from a birthday break staying for the first time at Jan Brito. The breakfast is excellent and the staff we superb, nothing was to much and they are a credit to the hotel we stayed in room 35 and 36, 36 has a double aspect and is quieter facing the garden 35 is on the road side. I personally did not like the lift which is on the outside of the building and I took the stairs instead. The rooms are compact but good decor, good finishings and very hot water. TV has no digital but you do not travel to bruges for the television. Mini bar was good as was night bar staff, we would definitely consider returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden room

Jan Brito is situated about a 20 minute walk from the train station and about a 5 minute walk to the main square where the Christmas Markets were. We were in the Knights room which is situated within a courtyard. It was fairly big but narrow so difficult to store luggage. It appeared to be a restored medieval room which gave it a great feel. It had a great sized bathroom and bath, comfy large bed. The room was serviced daily. It is situated next to a powered sliding door and lift and smoking point which caused some noise/smell. The electrics of the room was finical - we managed to blow fuses/trip the power twice. Breakfast was a decent spread of continental options. The hotel is a good location to all major attractions. It is a magnificent town - really worth going to. We did a day trip to Brussels and Ghent from here - about a 30 minute train ride.

The reception at the hotel was beyond what you can expect anywhere, the service oozed of excellence. After some quick instructions on how and where to park the car we checked in quickly and found our room perfectly clean and tidy, with a bath tub, great plus. The receptionist helped us point out where we could find the places on our itinerary as well, so we didn't have to fuss around with that. The location was very nice, five minutes away from the main square and the tourist trails but still quiet and laid back.

The sleep quality was good, although the room felt a little humid, but I guess that might the case everywhere in a city with water all around.

Would easily stay here again.

The location is ideal--the 4 short blocks to the Markt mean that it is not noisy. We had a Junior suite-Marquis room-in the old building with four large windows looking out at the side street. The room was immense with a sofa, table and chairs and a desk. The bathroom was also large and bright. The staff were sweet and helpful. we arrived before checkin time and they graciously stored our bags while we went off sightseeing. Breakfast room is bright and the food selection quite good.

Yes, it is an old building and the floors are uneven and it may seem dusty to some, but the location, charm, service and quiet make this the ideal hotel in Brugge. Not cheap, but good value.

Room Tip: The large room was lovely though for only one to two days the smaller ones are worth considering to...

We had a nice room - a twin room on the second floor. The room was clean and nice and warm. The ensuite (bath with overhead shower) was also clean. Unlike some others we had no problems with the lift while we were there. Breakfast was plentiful (breads, pastries, cereals, yoghurts, some hot foods). The hotel had a nice lounge area with an open fire. The man on reception was friendly and very helpful.

The hotel was well located for the centre of Bruges, but was in a very quiet area. We walked from the train station.

We stayed here for 2 nights en route to Koblenz in Germany. A delightful hotel well positioned, just a short walk from the main square and plenty of old cobbled streets. We stayed in one of the less expensive Maids Rooms on the top floor. This was small but delightful, and had everything we needed. The bathroom was nice, though a little tired, the shower was good, but just sat over the bath with a shower curtain, not a screen. However we were not really bothered by this, the water was always hot, and at least we had the choice to take a bath if we wanted. The room was warm and had lovely old wooden beams and a vaulted ceiling.
The breakfast was included in our booking, and was substantial with a good choice of cereals, cold meats and cheese, bread, fresh rolls, pastries, yoghurts, fruit, hot dishes, fruit juices, teas, and coffee. We made the most of our breakfasts as it is really quite expensive to eat out in Bruges. Bruges itself is a beautiful old city, plenty of lovely old buildings and quaint little cobbled streets, and of course the waterways. We followed a suggested walk around the city marked out on the map from the Hotel reception, it took you down streets you would otherwise not venture down, it was a lovely hour long walk we did earlyish one morning, and worth doing if you feel energetic.
There was a hotel bar, we had a drink here one night, but there are some great places to drink in Bruges itself with more atmosphere, but it was nice to have a drink just before retiring to bed. I would happily stay here again, it's not the height of luxury but it is comfortable, warm and a reasonable price.

Room Tip: The Maids Room we had was small but not cramped, with a decent sized bathroom. We have stayed in sm...
