“Beautiful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I had a week stay in this Hotel. The service was absolutely spot on. I was impressed that there was an Australian working in the hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily and the rooms are well presented. The hotel has an old world homely feel to it. There is good Wi-Fi in the resort and the breakfast was well presented with bins on each table. The town center is an easy walk with plenty of restaurants and bars around. There is a market outside on Saturdays. The Half Moon Brewery is an easy 10 minute walk and being on my own, felt completely safe walking at night. There is plenty to do at night. The only negative is there is no lift. If you are travelling light, it is a short walk to the train station

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel. Fantastic location. Lots of restaurants and bars on the doorstep; and the main centre is only 5 mins ( max) from the main centre. The main bus station is really like a large bus stop. We were in room 24 at the back of the hotel. Very quiet and had an excellent nights sleep. Our room was on the small side but was great. Large shower room and extremely clean. Breakfast was excellent great range of choice and really set us up for the day. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We will certainly be back.
Tip. We rented bikes from the bike hire situated in the underground car park. Very reasonable price. Had a fantastic day cycling into the Netherlands and back. Easy routes to follow and no cars.

Stayed for 3 nights, the owners could not have been more welcoming throughout. We were able to check in 2 hours early and our room was lovely and clean. Breakfast had lots of options and the lovely lady would make tea and coffee and toast if you asked for it. the location was perfect just a very short walk from the main city centre.

Just returned home after spending 3 nights at this lovely hotel in a great location for getting around by foot. My husband and I enjoyed a very comfortable room on the third floor. It was a bit of a climb but we needed the exercise so it wasn't a problem. This hotel is very clean and is of a high standard. The buffet breakfast is first class and has such a variety of items you could not fail to find something nice to eat. The staff are lovely and friendly too. We thoroughly recommend this hotel and enjoyed it so much we hope to be back there later this year.

This was a great hotel for us. Brugge is so small you can walk everywhere and this hotel was really convenient. There was a football match being shown on the square beside the hotel which was really loud one night but other than that it was a peaceful locatoin.

Room Tip: Our room had 3 single beds. It was very cosy but just what we needed

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2015

I was given the ground floor room, which was next to reception and entrance and faced the main road and bus station. I could hear the traffic very loudly and fairly constantly, even with the shutters drawn, and when guests entered the hotel after reception closed. In addition, I had to keep the blinds closed all the time because there was no privacy - pedestrians, drivers and people at bus station could see straight into the room.

I tried to change to a different room, but they had nothing else available, and I had already paid upfront in advance.

It's a shame because there was nothing else wrong with the room or hotel (apart from tiny bathroom which looked like a glorified portaloo): the bedroom was quite spacious, clean and comfortable; the staff were pleasant to deal with and very helpful, looking after my luggage twice; the continental breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I've had, consisting of fresh mini bread rolls and croissants, crispbread, cold sliced meats, cheese, boiled eggs, cereal, pots of yogurt and fresh juice; the room was reasonably priced compared with other hotels that I'd looked at; the hotel is well located for walking into town centre; and there was free wifi (although it took several attempts to log back in every time I returned to the hotel).

But the surroundings were so noisy that none of these helped in getting a good night's sleep - I was woken by traffic at 5.45am on Saturday - and as a result felt too tired and stressed to fully enjoy Bruges.

It is only because of the service, location and breakfast that this gets three stars instead of two.

Room Tip: Make sure you're not getting the ground floor room
