“Worth the 366 steps”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

To walk up the Belfry tower we paid 8euros for 25years old and over and 4euros for 18-24year olds (don't know why age makes a difference) but worth it. I don't think i'd do it in peak season when it's really busy as it's scary enough trying to pass someone near the very top let alone a mass of people. Views are great and bells sound brilliant.

“Well worth the climb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Went leaping (well not quite) up the stairs with my 11 year old daughter. Fantastic views across the city and towards the coast from the top. daughter's videoing from the top interrupted by the chiming bells which proved amusing. Price reasonable for the quality of the views - when in Bruges it's got to be done!!

“Climbed 366 steps to the top to see the carillion and a splendid view of the Neo-gothic buildings and Brugge.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Loved every bits of Brugge. We climbed 366 steps to the top of the Belfry Tower, th octogoal highest part of the tower houses the carillion. The view was spectacular the Neo-gothic buildings and the whole Brugge as far as the eye can see. The most striking building on the market square is the imposing Belfry. I was intrigued with the decorated gilded figurines on the neo-gothic buildings. Its a must to go out at night to see all the towers and buildings light up. What I disliked is the horrible smell near the tower but it cant be helped.

“You've seen "In Bruges", you've got to see this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Despite the 366 steps this is not a difficult climb, unless you weigh about 20 stone or have some other medical condition. The climb is broken into manageable stages - there are a number of rooms to stop off at on the way up/down. These include some museum type exhibits, and the chamber controlling the chimes. It really is like a giant music box.

At the top there are great views over the countryside and the city. In addition visitors are really close to the bells. When these are chiming it can be a very moving experience just to be there. I'll do it again when next in Bruges.

There are discounts for the under 25s - which is a massively different attitude to the UK.

“An Obvious Choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

An obvious choice to visit.

Very steep stairs (around 300 odd) but well worth the climb - great views. There are 3/4 rest points in the climb which is handy. I was happy with the visit.
