Beginage in Bruges is a part of UNESCO site, along with quite a few other similar places from all over Vlanders in Belgium. It's like an oasis of calm in busy Bruges life. The centre of the complex is the park in the former courtyard. Houses surrounding it are painted in white, making a huge contrast to the darkness of the trees. You can get there through a small bridge over the city canal (always busy with tour boats). When you go over that bridge you feel like you get into another world... And immediately on your left there's a little museum, but you're not going there for the museum, so unless you are very curious about life they had in the beguinage order years - avoid it. Just go along the alleys around the place and enjoy it for yourself. Pop into the little church. That is the best way of exploring this place.
