“Good hotel apart from centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

The hotel looks good but it is fra from the centre. Ideal if you get there by car. I didn't see shops, cafes or restaurants around. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs and the dish was very scarce. Breakfast is buffet and very good and complete. The best feature, I'd say.
The room was very good and beds very confortable.

Just stayed here this weekend. Hotel is very nice. Rooms are good sized, and bathrooms likewise. Breakfast is really nice - it is about 14/15 (if you book in advance) Euros but definitely worth the money. Location for Bruges is fine for cyclists and drivers. Parking was free. The staff downstairs were very helpful to us when we got there and also for check out.

The property is a little older and dated, but generally clean and quiet. That's really all I ask for in a hotel. The staff we encountered were all nice and extremely helpful.

The pros:
Easy to get to and free parking. The hotel staff makes it easy to get into the historic town center. They offer maps with walking directions, reduced cab vouchers, and bicycle rentals. The hotel might be a bit far, as some have pointed out, but its location is not bad at all if you're interested in a really adorable 15 minute bike ride on a nice sunny day. And the hotel is surrounded by some nice bike and walking paths, so if you need a few hours away from the tourist-filled town center, you can take a walk through sheep pastures!

The cons:
Breakfast was expensive (but in-line with Bruges prices). The bathroom was weird. It had horribly bright lights which come on automatically (with a motion sensor). Think of getting up at 4AM to use the toilet and being jarred awake by lights bright enough for a Hollywood movie set. It was just off-putting.

The hotel is in a very quiet neighbourhood in every respect. There is nothing nearby.
It is a thirty minute walk to town and another 15 minutes to the market square where most of the action is located, so you better use your car. The hotel is modern, but the rooms are quite small for the American taste, the beds are very small, less than twin size. The bathroom is functional but you can be careful however you want, if you take a shower the floor gets wet. Breakfast is quite different from day to day, sometimes it is really nice and plentiful, sometimes the choices are quite limited. The Brasserie (restaurant) is so, so, the server seemed overwhelmed, because he had to serve lots of people singlehandedly. All in all it is a good place to stay in Brugge (Bruges), bit nothing very special.

cycling trip around Belgium and one night in bruge looking very expensive then up popped the Apollo 64 euros for a twin granted no breakfast included but the rooms were spot on clean and tidy comfy bed excellent shower/bathroom. 20 mins walk from the centre of Bruge or about 9 euros in a taxi.
so if your on a budget and want to visit the beautiful Bruge this the place for you.
would not hesitate to stay there again.

Average is the word which the best describes this hotel. Average rooms, average service for average price.
If you want to just enjoy Brugge (not the hotel) and you are looking for relatively cheap room - this is place for you.

This was the last stop on a bike tour. The hotel is not in the center at all. Solid 25 minute walk to get to the center. Hotel draws a lot of bus tour groups. Hotel is a newer style building and the rooms are OK. Bed was large, room was clean, but heating/air conditioning didn't work so well and the controls on the shower were quirky and never really gave a good hot shower.

Staff at reception, particularly the young blond haired woman who checked us in and gave us advice during our stay was great. Staff in the restaurant was less so.

There isn't much immediately by the hotel for meals, so you have the hotel restaurant or plan on a longer walk. Since the hotel is geared around bus groups, there is a large buffet dinner, but the prices run 30 euros for the full buffet a person. Didn't try the buffet, but did order a burger that was good. Breakfast was OK. Decent selection, but the eggs never looked very appealing...Staff in the restaurant was always borderline surly....

It's an OK hotel, but I wouldn't stay here again if I was visiting Brugge. Would recommend something more in the center or close to the train station. Our 3rd night was in the Ibis Budget next to the train station. Preferred that....
