The Hotel Leopold is the ideal place in Bruges for the traveler on a modest budget. I have been a guest several times at the Leopold. My travelilng companions and I have always gotten a very warm and friendly welcome from the owners, Reginald and Corry. Their knowledge of the city is better than any guide book. The rooms and apartments/flats are in a centuries-old complex of buildings. They are very well maintained and tastefully decorated. In the morning, you will find a classic European breakfast and a very lovable Boxer dog, named "Box". (His owners have a great sense of humor.) You can't beat the location--within easy walking distance of the major attractions and dozens of restaurants. The welcome, the value received for your Euros, and the convenience to the train station are all reasons to book your stay in Bruges at the Hotel Leopold.

We spent 2 enjoyable days In Brugges at the Leopold. the owners (Reginald and Corry) were very friendly and helpful giving out stay a personal feeling. The room was basic, clean, and functional with its own charm which is exactly what we wanted (a small hotel, in a central location, clean functional room, all at a reasonable price). Breakfast was basic (breads, cereals, meats, cheeses, Yogurts, and hard boiled eggs), but quite enjoyable and just right to start out the day.

Arrival by auto was quite easy with near by public parking (at t'Zand) and a short walk to the hotel. The Market is just a 10-15 minute walk an there are many restaurants close to the hotel. We all agreed, that when returning to Brugges, we'd stay at the Leopold again.

I stayed in Leopold over the Valentines weekend and was very disappoionted with the Leopold Hotel. The location is very good but the room isn't. There were two hot pipes running throuh our room so the room was hot and we couldn't control this. Also there was a constant drip-like noise coming from the ceiling near the pipe. This was very annoying and woke us up on several occasions. The bathroom door would not lock. We had 1 pillow each and when we asked for an extra one we were told there were none spare!Overall the room was shabby and could of done with being done up and dusted! We had to leave early on Sunday before Breakfast. When we got up the landlady was already up, we felt she could of offered to leave some food out for usI would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed at this hotel in summer last year, when we had to keep the window open to get some air. Quite noisy as it is on the square. We had booked on the net, requesting a room with few stairs as my husband and I have health problems. We were given a room on the top floor up a winding staircase. We were moved the following day to a lower floor.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast basic.

This is where my family stay every year on our annual December trip to Bruges. We've tried a few hotels, but this was our 3rd, the one we now go back to each year. Each year we get a warm welcome, cosy rooms and a tasty breakfast. The location is great too.
