“Stayed Xmas 2012 excellent highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012 via mobile

Stayed for 4 nights could not have been improved - sorry pillows could have been softer & the heating was too efficient
Staff so helpful & friendly nothing too much trouble parking car etc etc. Comments have been made about expensive breakfasts but you get what you pay for + ambience hence QED value for money.
Two lounge areas with log fires.
I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone & will be returning. It is rare to find such a "gem" in a central location

We stayed for two days and were so impressed with this beautiful friendly cosy hotel right in the centre of the city. We were met at the door, car parked for us and ourselves and friends and exceptional quiet rooms, with every luxury. Our drinks in the cosy lounge with open fire was perfect. The breakfast was included in our rate as we booked well in advance and was a fantastic experience complete with champagne. All the staff were superb and as we left we were given a goody bag for our journey home our car bought to the door. Do not miss this hotel for a little luxury. Expensive but worth it. The only fault was the pillows were a little uncomfortable.

We arrived at the hotel by car from UK for a long weekend. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and helped with bags from our car up to our room. The car was also taken away and parked securely for us. We had room 105 a 'luxury room' on the first floor which faces the street. We did not hear the street noise as the rooms are double glazed and have think curtains, so this was not a problem, we had hoped the room might face the canal, but unfortunately it was an extra 80E to upgrade. The location of the hotel is excellent, could not be more central. Our room was extremely well presented and a good size for a 2 night stay. The only downside was the bathroom was very dated and was quite small. There was no shower curtain up, so our bathroom floor got very wet. I informed the receptionist who informed me it was due a refurbishment very soon.

The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and let us know the best places to visit and restaurants, pubs to visit. Within the hotel is a lovely relaxing room with an open fire and a bar. We enjoyed a few hours sitting here after dinner reading books and drinking the whiskeys/wine they have on offer - definitely a highlight of the hotel. Breakfast was not included in our price so we opted to try the eateries the city has to offer.

Overall an excellent hotel in the heart of Bruge, perfect for a weekend visit.

We stayed in this hotel last month, and it was just great.
Great location, very friendly staff, breakfast was delicious, and the room was so cosy and charming.
A real treat is the afternoon tea, with the scones & sandwiches, served in the afternoon.
We definitely come back again!!!

Stayed for two nights in September. Very nice hotel, in a perfect location. We upgraded to a canal view room, which was nice, but a tad spendy.
The hotel staff are very pleasant and professional, and I would recommend the afternoon tea service which was a great way to spend the afternoon along the canal.
There are a lot of restaurants and shops within very easy walking distance from the hotel, as well as a boat launch for canal tours.
With so much of the world yet to see, I don't know if we will ever return to Bruges, but if so, we would certainly stay at Hotel de Orangerie again.

We stayed in this hotel this weekend. Great choice. Very personal, charming, comfortable and cosy. Very friendly staff. Sadly we didn't get a room canal side but I suspect that would have been more expensive. One or 2 criticisms, is they don't include breakfast in the price and it was an expensive extra. Synthetic pillows for a luxury hotel was a surprise and the rooms were a little too hot and as our room (101) was on the ground floor we couldn't keep an open window. The gorgeous sitting room with a huge log fire was perfect for after dinner coffee and nightcap which came with delicious local chocolates and biscuits. Mint tea was served out of an antique silver tea pot! Definitely recommend this hotel. It's a 3 minute walk to the bell tower in the Markt Square.

Room Tip: Better not to have a room on the ground floor which don't have a view.

Thank you very much for taking your time to write down your experience about your recent stay in our Hotel de Orangerie.
Nice reading that you really have enjoyed your stay and that you have experienced the charming, cosy and personal atmosphere.
The champagne breakfast is worth every penny : a rich assortment of hot &cold dishes, various kinds of bread, butter cakes, delicacies , coffee, tea, fresh fruit juice, champagne,... a very comprehensive breakfast!
We use synthetic pillows , but on request we can always offer feather pillows .
About the rooms, each room is different decorated and have different sizes. The view is also different, the one has view on the street, the other on the canal or on the patio.
So, we can almost fulfill the wishes of our guests.
We hope to welcome you back in the near future.

Amazing hotel. Rooms are small but it's an ancient building in central Bruges so not much you can do about that! The staff are wonderful, helpful and discrete. Best thing about its that its not too stuffy. Too many good hotels seem to surgically remove personality from their staff but here they are friendly and ready with a joke. The breakfast is great, no menu just ask for whatever you want plus plenty of champagne! Overall top notch, make sure you enjoy a couple of hours in front of the fire in the drawing room, that's where I am now, enjoying a gin and tonic!
