The hotel enhanced our Brugge experience. It was our first visit. The hotel is located in a residental part of the town, easy walking distance to the attractions. No ac in our room, but it wasn't too hot during our stay. Room on second floor was large, though bed was lumpy, and sagging in center. Washroom is newly renovated and large. we arrived on time for check in, room was not ready, we were told to return in 1 hour, still not ready, we were provided with complimentary drinks of our choosing in the back garden area, while room was being prepared. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would reccomend hotel.

We had a great stay at the Montanus Hotel in Bruges.
I've left my wallet in the room on the day of our departure. I've noticed it was missing when we were at Brussels Airport.
Can you believe, they've arranged for a taxi to bring my wallet to the airport.
When I checked the contens, nothing was missing!

We originally visited the Montanus in June 2003 as part of a prize trip to Bruges and were treated as royalty! Our room was enormous and the bathroom was like another suite in and of itself.

Because we had such a fantastic stay the first time, we decided to revisit last weekend (2-4 July 2004) after getting a great deal on the web. This time our room was one looking out onto their gorgeous garden.

The rooms are well-furnished and sparkling clean. The staff is first class and the whole hotel is well-decorated and looks the way you'd hope a 4-star hotel to be. The location is superb. It's not in the very centre of the city but within close walking distance and in a very quaint, quiet area. I would highly recommend the Montanus to anyone visiting Bruges.

Excellent hotel. Fantastic location in old part of town. Stayed 2 nights at beginning of May, got a crazy low rate on a suite. Marvelous breakfast, clean, big, spacious rooms, very pretty courtyard.
