“Comfortable and relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

A 2 night stay in Bruges at this hotel was a welcome break. The hotel is very central, which makes it a perfect base for sightseeing. The staff were welcoming and helpful, whether recommending places to eat, pointing out great places to see in Bruges or bringing a very welcome afternoon tea (complete with chocolates!). Breakfast was served in a light airy room. We were given freshly squeezed juice, fresh fruit (with a lovely raspberry coulis on the side), croissants and bread, and eggs (cooked to order on the Aga). This made a great start to the day!
The room was also comfortable. The only quibbles were in the bathroom : 1. With so much luxury and comfort elsewhere in the hotel, did the towels have to be quite so thin and small? 2. The toilet was squeezed between the washbasin and the bath. Anyone with very large hips might find this awkward!!
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as a luxurious base for a stay in beautiful Bruges

We were recommended this hotel by friends and everything was just right. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful in relaxed surroundings. The staff were delightful and made every effort to help us in any way they could so that our short break was relaxing and enjoyable. The location is perfect for a weekend, with sights and restaurants aplenty nearby. Our room (204) was lovely and quiet with a very comfortable bed and jacuzzi bath!

Just returned from a lovely weekend away in Bruges. We were attracted to the hotel because everyone said the breakfast was great - that's definitely true! The breakfast waiter was very friendly (not all service staff in Bruges are!) and the food and atmosphere were really lovely - I highly recommend the omelette!

We were originally supposed to stay in room 205 which we were told was a 'superior room' - it was TINY! Just about enough room to walk around the bed and not the nicest room... We asked to move and were given room 401 which was lovely (Junior suite - we paid an upgrade fee), nice bathroom (not brilliant shower as right at the top of the hotel).

All in all a lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms (4th Floor) are lovely.

Dear Sir
Dear Madam

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this review..
I'm very happy to read you enjoyed the beautiful city of Bruges and the delights of our full waiter service Champagne breakfast.

Room 205 is a Charming room and the base category. We have three different room categories for all budgets. These rooms are very nicely decorated and offer all modern comfort but indeed not very spacious. We mention the room sizes on the booking form to avoid disappointment and guests are aware of this prior to arrival, since this can influence the choice in room upon reservation.
Fortunately you informed us upon check-in so we could give you a nice Jr Suite.
The Jr Suite 401 is situated on the fourth floor and has a fairytale view. The granite bathroom has a jacuzzi bath, double sink and a separate walk in shower.

We hope to welcome you back at the Pand in the near future.

Stayed here for the second time for 2 nights just before new year - the entire experience is faultless and the staff are perfect. If you are looking for anything better than the Pand then it will be difficult to find in my opinion - thanks to all of the staff.

Room Tip: get yourself a suite - well worth it

The hotel is lovely and the staff is great. It is in the perfect location. The best part about the stay was the breakfast. The dining room is so cozy and the flourish makes you feel so special. We booked last minute and the were fully booked so I don't think we got the best room.....photo number 11 if you look at the professional photos. Anyway that room was VERY small. I would not like to stay in that room again. Be specific about your room choice and you'll be happy you stayed!

Dear Guest,

On behalf of the our entire team I would like to thank you for mentioning the hotel and especially our service on TripAdvisor. We work very hard on a daily basis to provide a truly personalized and caring service to our guests, and the best reward for us is to see that our efforts are recognized.

It is true the Charming rooms are not very spacious but this is exactly the reason why we mention the room sizes very clearly on our website to inform our guests very well on what type of room they are reserving. The Pand is housed in a town house of the 18th century and due to the structure of the building we cannot change a lot in the sizes of the rooms but we compensate this in decorating each one individually with great care and attention to detail. We feel that our quaint boutique hotel adds to the charm of romantic Bruges.

If you have seen a picture which is to your liking, you can always request this room. We always do our utmost to accommodate you in the room of your choice. We all hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again with us when staying in Bruges.

Yours sincerely

We stayed at the Pand for 4 nights over New Year and it was just amazing. Such a beautiful hotel in an unbeatable location, we couldn't have asked for more.

We stayed in a 'Charming' room on the first floor (which I think is the smallest type you can book). It was lovely - big bed, a big wardrobe and a lovely bathroom with a nice deep bath. It wasn't huge but perfect for us - cosy, warm and very romantic. It was also really quiet - we never heard any of the other guests so it felt like it was just you in the hotel.

The communal areas in the hotel are just amazing. Peaceful, cosy and all the furnishings have been chosen impeccably. We had a drink in the bar a couple of times and it was a really nice place for a quiet drink - discrete staff, games to play (chess, backgammon, etc) and they serve some snacks with the drinks which was a nice touch.

We only had breakfast on one of the mornings but were very glad we did as it was brilliant. Champagne, breads, pastries, oven-baked eggs with bacon and tea, coffee, juice, etc. Great way to start the day.

The staff are also excellent at the Pand - so professional and slick. The reception staff were always on hand and really helpful - you never feel like you're asking too much. We never even saw the cleaners even though they came in every day to clean and in the evening to turn down the bed. One of the things I hate is when you want to have a lie in and the cleaners are knocking at your door, but this never happened. On New Years day when we came back from our evening out the staff had left a present on the bed - a wrapped up hardback book of luxury hotels around the world with great, high-quality pics. Lovely surprise!

The hotel is located in a quiet street just off one of the main streets. It manages to feel very quiet and peaceful but you're still in the heart of the action. 5 mins walk to the main square and literally 1 minute walk from one of the most beautiful (and most photographed) views in Bruges.

Would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic, luxurious stay in Bruges.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Europe where we did a little day and night in Brugge. I did a lot of research on hotels, and came across the Pand Hotel which we booked. Thank goodness we did! What a gem of a hotel. The hotel is on a convenient and quiet block and feels like someone's townhouse. The living area is very comfortable and stylish with a great fireplace. There is also a small bar that is very civilized. I ordered a drink one evening and my wine came in a very special crystal glass ... very special! We had a very small room, however, it was very cozy and were were barely there. Very comfortable room and nice bathroom. Our favorite was the breakfast which was out of this world! The food, service, special eggs in an old oven, fresh juice, and champagne was truly delightful. I read many reviews about the breakfast and agree it cannot be missed. We loved this hotel and would go back anytime!

Room Tip: We had a very small Charming room. Small but cozy!
