“Cosy and welcoming Belgian restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2010

Visited on a Wednesday when most of the other local restaurants are closed. So glad we went here and not one of the tourist places in the main square. It's only a 3 minute walk from Markt square but it feels much more authentic. Room for only about 20 diners, lovely relaxed atmosphere with good mix of locals and discerning tourists. Food was delicious and well presented (Flemmish Stew recommended). Agree could be a wider choice of wine.

“Excellent local food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2010

We had croquettes, eel and seafood soup - all excellent served in a small family atmosphere. It fills quickly with locals so go early or book.

“Lovely find....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2010

Lovely little restaurant just off the main drag so much more laid back with great chilled jazz sounds. Wine list could do with expanding though....

“Good restaurant , not a tourist trap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2010

Dinner here was delicious, well presented and with great flavours. Service was relaxed and friendly and the place was well popualated with locals and a smattering of tourists who had ventured away from the "tourist" cafes on the main square. Only about 2 minutes off the square so not hard to find if you use the ING bank as your compass then walk straight ahead with that on your right out of the square and across the road. Restaurant is on your right and is small so keep your eyes open

“Flemish food in a chilled out setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2009

A genuine local restaurant close to the tourist areas but off the tourist itinery. 2 small rooms, 1 upstairs and one down with a small bar. The decor is informal with lots of old enamel signs.

The food is well cooked Flemish with favourites like pork and beef cooked in beer and mussells with chips and mayo and occasional diversions like curry. There is a background of smooth jazz and the service is friendly and relaxed. In a town full of tourist traps this place is a real find.
