“It's All True”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

We spent five nights here, and everything you read about this wonderful B&B is true. Lynn has fashioned a beautiful home which she shares with you. Great breakfasts you can eat in her kitchen or behind the house next to a canal as the swans and ducks glide by. Best of all is her warmth and friendliness. The location is a 5-minute walk to the heart of Bruges, and when you return to this quiet refuge each day you find fresh desserts in your room. Each evening we would skip dessert at our restaurant and eat Lynn's treats by the canal with a cup of tea. What a great way to finish the day!

My wife and I stayed in the canal side room for 2 nights in May and enjoyed every moment. We were treated with wonderful hospitality by Lynn and every detail of our accommodations were lovingly prepared. Great location, great views, and very peaceful. Simply the best!

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms; choose the canal side room.

We've stayed at a number of top-notch B&Bs and can say that it doesn't get any better than at Huis Koning. We spent two nights in the beautifully furnished Augustine room. Lynn is a superb hostess. She makes sure you have all the information on Bruges with recommendations where to visit and eat. She prepares excellent breakfasts including freshly squeezed orange juice and homemade bread. She offers special treats in the room daily--like chocolate mousse and apple cake. And you must ask her about the history of the building and the effort undertaken to renovate a historic building. The location is convenient, and the patio alongside the canal is absolutely charming. You can enjoy birds singing and ducks splashing as you enjoy breakfast or a cup of coffee. Lynn also offers a great deal on bike rentals. Lynn is a Bruges native with a passion for the city which she shares with guests. She also has a good library of Bruges-related books and travel guides available to loan.

Huis Koning deserves to be the top ranked B&B in Brugge. Generous hosts, lovely accommodation, great value, perfect location. I couldn't recommend highly enough. We stayed for 2 nights in perfect strong weather. We received great advice as to where to visit in Brugge and reservations were made on our behalf. 10/10

BEST place to stay in Bruges. The location is great and we loved our beautiful room overlooking the channel. Peter and Lynn welcomed us into their B&B like friends. The breakfast Lynn served was fresh and yummy with lots of local homemade specialties to try every day. Lynn is also very knowledgeable about where to go and what to do in Bruges and provided us with free books and maps and great recommendations. Lynn and Peter's B&B make you feel warm and cozy even on a freezing cold April weekend.

We had a wonderful stay here. From the minute the doors was opened we were spoilt, coffee and cake on the terrace while our bags were carried to our room. We woke to a delicious breakfast cooked to our choice and liking. On arrival back after a big day of site seeing, more beautiful home cooked goodies awaited us. Everything was top quality, and we felt spoilt at every turn.

Lynn & Peter have not overlooked one thing in their wonderful B&B. The maps and guide books were a tremendous help - no need to buy anything at the Visitor Information office. The restaurant recommendations were super and Lynn even made reservations for us. Don't try to get a table at a local restaurant after 4pm without a reservation. You could wait for an hour or more. Lynn's breakfasts are without a doubt the best I've ever had at a B&B - just watch your waistline! The home made treats in your room every day are wonderful. I loved the high-end bath products, the clean room and bath, the rain showerhead - beds were very comfy. There isn't anything else that could be done to make their place any better than it already is. There is plenty of storage space in the rooms, a mini-fridge/bar with prices better than the grocery stores, extra pillows, a safe - in short, all the comforts of home. I can't wait to go back!!!!

Room Tip: All 3 rooms are great. If you specifically want a bathtub, then the largest room is the one to choo...
