Owner description: Belgium is famous for its frites—and the Friet Museum gives visitors a chance to sample fried potatoes and various complementary sauces, as well as typical Belgian dishes such as meat balls and beef stew. Digest a bit of learning and history along with your food at this educational spot, housed in a building that dates back to the 14th century.

“Lot's of information about potatoes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

This museum gives a lot of information on different potatoes, as well as fries. Every utensil ever used in connection with fries are displayed here. It wasn't as good as the Chocolate museum that works in tandem with this museum.

“A good way to pass some time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

It's a museum about the history of the potato and fries. There's a lot of information displayed. It might not be the best museum, but it's a good and interesting way to spend some time. Just don't take it too seriously.

“O.K. if you have time on your hands”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

If you have a Brugge City Card and are not forking out extra, then this might be interesting for about a twenty minute look around. I would not pay separately for this as it doesn't have enough to hold your interest.

“Even though the cost is low..... Don't bother!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

This museum might be slightly educational for those of you who know nothing of frites. Even as as a fellow friete lover I was bored and disappointed.

“Intriguing - but lots of stairs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

Well who'd have thought the history of the humble chip would be so interesting? The early part of the museum is less interesting if you already know about how potatoes are grown and harvested and the history of how they were introduced to Europe. However the rest of the museum about the introduction and preparation of the frites is truly weirdly interesting. Not sure about the annual expo of frite vans though. worth a visit
