“As Good as a B&B gets - Look no further.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2008

If you want a big impersonal, overpriced hotel in a noisy city centre, where you are just a number and the maids don’t even clean under the beds properly, this is the WRONG hotel for you.

If you want a great value, intimate, spotlessly clean B&B, in a very quite residential area, with two charming and informative hosts (Paul & Benny)THIS IS IT.

My wife and I have stayed in Hotels all over the world, and this was one the cheapest, yet it had the highest standards of cleanliness. We choose a ‘Queen Studio’ in the Bariseele (Annex of the Hotel Fevery), which was a spacious mini-suite with a small kitchen area, at a bargain price (cheaper than most UK motels). Sink, fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster were provided. If you like a big greasy breakfast once again this is the WRONG HOTEL, but an ample Continental one is provided.

The hotel is a pretty 10 minute walk to the main market square and not far from everything else. The local area extremely quiet apart from the joy of being awoken by nearby church bells each morning. The bed mattress was very comfortable. A mini-bar (based on trust) was provided and as if by magic a full bottle of milk constantly appeared in the fridge for making Tea and Coffee.

Benny made us feel so very welcome and Paul kindly answered my endless questions about the best restaurants etc. This included Paul typing a complete set of instructions how to get to Ypres including all the bus/train times.

Bruges is the PERFECT destination for a long weekend, especially if you enjoy walking, sight-seeing and eating! Walking at night is very safe too. This is a near-perfect B&B.

We will be back.

Brits can combine this hotel with a cheap Eurostar deal (Bruges is just one hour from ‘Brussels Midi’ by train) and you can use it as a base to explore other cities such as Brussels, Gent, Antwerp and Ypres, which are all just an hour or less away by train.

I chose it by chance - they had an availability for our dates and I was really happy to get this lucky chance. We travelled with a toddler so the host in his letter recommended us a spacious studio on the grond floor with a separate kitchen and reserved a place in a private garage for our car for just 8 euro per night. It's always very important to find a place in european cities to park your car and not to spend a fortune.
Benny, the host, was helpful and very pleasant. He served us the excellent breakfast and provided us with all information we needed for our stay. The Bariseele B&B has a wonderful location in a quiet street and it's only 10 min by foot from the Markt - the central place. Our room was so beautiful and the kitchen was so well equipped that we even didn't want to leave the house! All things were carefully chosen for our stay: a comfortable bed (very important!), linen, glasses and so on. Our fridge even had a minibar for reasonable prices so there was no need to go to the supermarket for drinks and it was so important because on Sunday everything is closed and we had water, juice, wine and many other options (our baby was happy to get some cookies).
The unforgetable stay for a very reasonable price. Strongly recommended.

We travelled via Eurostar to Bruges for a long weekend stay. We read the reviews and were most plesantly surprised by the accomodation and the the hospitality and helpfulness shown by the proprietor, Benny.

The suite was clean, spacious and comfortable and in our opinion was tremendous value for money.

The Bariseele is located in a quite area of Bruges away from the bussle but a plesant walk along the canals away from the town centre and market square.

The breakfast was served in our room and was well presented and plentiful.

We would recommend the Bariseele and would most definately stay there again.

The Bariseele B&B is two guest suites in the same building as the Hotel Fevery. My husband & I stayed in the one that is one floor above street level. Being above street level offered more privacy. It was very spacious, airy, with high ceilings. The bed/living room area was separated by a door from the kitchenette area and bathroom. The photos on their website (via a link on the Hotel Fevery site) are a good represention. The suite was clean, tastefully decorated and had a comfortable bed. The daily breakfast (brought to the room on a tray) was very good and generous. The Bariseele is in a quiet, historic neighborhood about a 10 minute walk from the main historic square and reachable by a short taxi or bus ride (with a 2 min walk) from the train station. There is a grocerry store just around the corner, about a 2 min walk. We were there 5 nights and enjoyed having the additional space that most hotel rooms in this price range would not offer. Benny, the owner was friendly, helpful and professional. I highly recommend the Bariseele.
