“Three courses of pure heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

We went here for dinner on our last night in Brugge and I think I ate some of the most wonderful food I'd ever had. We ate a la carte (there appears to be two menus - one to suit more budget, lighter meal preferences, one for evening dining) and cannot fault the food at all.
The reception we got was a little frosty at first but they eventually warmed to us. The Fanstasy of duck that I had as a starter was gobsmackingly good, my hubby loved his smoked salmon. My main of Venison stew was glorious and I pushed my appetite to take advantage of the creme brulee for desert. This was okay, I've had better. But, oh that stew.... I still dream about it!

“Below average, basic food, move on elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

We tried here for breakfast and were unimpressed. No real coffee just the anaemic American filter version. Yoghurt is natural? we asked. Yes they said, but it was sugared. So not natural. Croissants tired. And Verdi‘s music was piped into a room lined by fake books!

“Just for tourists”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

The restaurant is created in an old fashioned style, but also shows some wear and tear.
The food they offered was reasonable, not well presented and more or less thrown at you rather than served.
The staff seems to be bothered by our presence. The attitude seems to be: you are here only once as tourist, so why bother.

“Smelly staff restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Mediocre food, appeared to be "tinned" or frozen, unsmiling staff who had bad B.O. problems.
Not a pleasant experience and quite high prices for catering packed food. Would definitely avoid on next visit.

“Bad value and tired restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

I think this restaurant relies on its loccation and tourists coming in. We made the mistake in going in for dinner and the fact that there were only a few tables taken says it all. The outside is quite misleading to the old decor inside and they tend to seat people by the window to encourage you in. The decor hasn't changed for probably at least 25 years. The menu was extremely expensive and the food wasn't good at all. We were given bread rolls that was chewy and quite obviously bought in. The top was crusty from either sitting out too long or by being placed in the oven for a couple of mins to freshen up, however, they were not fresh and were long life bread. The butter was straight out of the fridge and was not spreadable. The lady serving had a body odour problem and the waiter looked rather unkempt. We only ordered main course each and these were priced around 25 euros each. The steak was super chewy even though it should be fillet and the fries were greasy and were in a porcelain cone, which meant that they sweated and went soggy near the bottom. I had the scampi pasta. The prawn were tasty, however the sauce was completely tasteless. It was very disapointing meal and the worse we had whilst in Bruge.
