It was pouring down with rain when we were sight-seeing in Ghent and our main motive was to find shelter. Ostensibly it is a museum of folk art but has developed way beyond that with its masterly collection of hundreds of home movies that try to portray the life of ordinary people in days gone by.
It is set in a former children's hospital so there's an emphasis on childhood.
The building itself is worth a visit in its own right.
A must visit.
