We stayed at the Astoria for 3 nights and were very happy with our stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating and helped us with planning a great visit to Ghent.
The location is good as it is easy to get into the city and also to get to the station if you want to visit Bruges, Brussels or Antwerp. (Bruges is just 30 mins away). The only down side with being so close to the station is that you could hear the trains at night. To be fair we were given earplugs and with the windows closed you couldn't hear much, but as it was summer we needed to have the Windows open. If you are a light sleeper I would suggest Asking for a room facing the back if possible.
The room was clean, had tea and coffee making facilities, a comfortable bed, good bathroom, safe, mini-bar and digital tv. Really good facilities, my only suggestion would be to change the pillows as they are quite high.
The breakfast was excellent and there was a good selection of continental breakfast options including fresh breads, cereals, home-,made yogurt, pastries, juice, fresh coffee and meats and cheeses. If the weather is nice you can have breakfast out in the garden which is really nice!
Overall a great stay and we loved Ghent, what a beautiful city! Thanks to the Astoria staff for making our trip an enjoyable and memorable one.
