Kris demonstrates his professionalism in providing superb personalized service. He went out of his way to serve my husband and I during our stay with him this summer. The rooms are spotless, and comfortable. The location is far enough from the city center to be quiet, yet close enough to walk too. He's also an easy walk from the train station. He loves to share his knowledge and love for the city with his guests. His flexibility was most appreciated. The bed was firm and comfortable which is important to us since my husband has a bad back. The view from the window was nice, and it felt good to be in the neighborhood. We highly recommend a stay at Su'ro.

Kris is a kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable host. We enjoyed talking to him about a myriad of subjects -- education to tourism, the EU to the USA. He would stop at nothing to help us make plans, get where we needed to go and feel comfortable and well looked after. For example, when we decided to go for a longer bike ride in the area around Gent, Kris called around to find us bikes to rent (his he had already promised to other guests), gave us maps and route advice and even offered to go to the bike shop to scope out the rental details. The room was comfortable and so clean, the attention to environmentally sound practices admirable and the breakfast personal and delicious. I would suggest to anyone visiting Gent to stay with Kris.

Top marks all round. We used both of the rooms, both of which are finished to the highest standard. The Su'ro has been completely renovated - it is like something out of Grand Designs when you walk in and up!

Kris made us feel very welcome, and although we only stayed for one night, he provided recommendations on where to go in the evening and was also very knowledgeable on the history of Gent and Belgium.

The breakfast, with oranges squeezed in front of you, was great. And little added touches, like the bus pass and parking permit made the stay perfect.

I just spent 10 days staying at Su'ro. I was made feel immediately at home by Kris, who not only gave me all the insider's guide to sightseeing in Gent, but also kindly lent me a bicycle for the 10 days. I could cycle into the centre in about 10 minutes.
The room I stayed in, Sandra, is bright and airy with lovely views on the city from the back. The room had everything I needed and even though the toilet is on the floor below, I had a nice shower and sink area.
The breakfasts were really great, freshly squeezed orange juice and anything I wanted, bacon, eggs, croissants etc Kris is very obliging.
The B&B is not in the city centre but it is on a bus route and it's a nice area, very near the central station which was handy for me.
Overall, an excellent choice, I had great hospitality, and a lovely room with everything I needed.
Hard to find this level of service anywhere else!

Don't waste your money staying in a hotel in the centre, stay here!
Price - excellent value for money. Includes a lovely, ample breakfast.
Rooms - trendy, comfortable and well equipped with lot soy useful extras.
Location - Although the bed and breakfast is slightly out of the centre, the walk in takes about 20 minutes and you get a good flavour of Gent on the way. Or alternatively, Chris the owner will give you a bus pass to use.
But best of all is the warm welcome that Chris gives you. He really goes the extra mile to make your stay fab. We have stayed twice and can't wait to go back.

We felt like we were staying at a friends house. We stayed in the smaller of the two rooms and had plenty of room. Kris always cooks a great breakfast to order. He spent an hour or more helping us make ferry and train reservations for England and then when we left he used his personal auto to take us to an early train. We will certainly stay with Kris the next time we go to Gent.

This B&B has a very unique aesthetic that creates a highly relaxing atmosphere in a cozy, modern-style home that is very eco-friendly.

Kris is very friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. When we first arrived, he gave us a map and made sure we knew how to find our way around town, as well as offer good suggestions for dinner options. He also loaned us a couple of bikes at no cost so we could get around town more time-efficiently without having to take the bus. Then, when taking the bus became necessary, he was able to provide us with a bus pass right there from the B&B for no extra charge beyond the regular price of the pass. He also allowed us to use his personal computer to check train schedules and print tickets, as well as offer some advice that saved us some money while purchasing them. When we said we were on our way to Bruges next, he gave us a good map for that too.

The room was very clean, and I was pleased to find that it had its own private shower and sink. It has good natural lighting, a comfortable bed, a nice TV (with PC mode built in), a little desk with a couple of cozy rolling chairs, a nice coffee maker, a water bottle with some glasses, some toiletries in the cabinets, and a really great view of the rustic lawns and gardens out back between the neighborhood houses.

In the morning, Kris had lots of great breakfast options already laid out across the counter when we came downstairs, and he also made eggs for us after he found out how we like them cooked.

This B&B really helped to make Ghent a special experience that stands out from a lot of other cities we’ve traveled to in the past. I highly recommend staying here if you have the option. You’ll be thankful you did.
