“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

My other half booked the hotel for our two night stay so I hadn't seen any reviews, and was a little apprehensive when we first arrived. The decor is a little outdated but the room was spotlessly clean, with a great shower, and breakfast was just the continental style we needed before two meals out each day ! The manageress was very helpful and friendly, happy to provide us with any information we needed and book a taxi when we left.
The hotel is perfectly situated for the historic quarter and we spent a very happy two days wandering about with no need for taxis or trams at any point.
We would certainly stay here again on our next visit to Ghent.

A fairly short walk from Dampoort station and from the old town, this hotel is ideally situated. My room was quiet. I had requested a room at the back of the hotel and this was given. It does mean that there was nothing to see out of the window but I was happy with that. The room was clean and comfortable with a big shower room. Breakfast very good. The stairs up were steep and narrow but not that much of a problem. I would stay here again, certainly.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

Just returned from a 2 night break in Ghent and stayed at the Hotel Cathedral. We were greeted by An and after a very simple check in she gave us maps and tourist info to get us started. The receptions closes at 10.00pm but no problem as tgere are plenty of bars around is you fancy a drink. Hotel very small but rooms large clean and comfortable. Would have bben nice if rooms had T&C making facilities.
Rooms quite noisey with traffic if you are on the front but didn't stop us sleeping soundly.
All in all not the luxury hotel but fantastic value for money and we will certainly be returning

Room Tip: Room 6 is a great room if you can get it

We stayed there from the 1st of January for 2 nights.
The hotel has 8 bedrooms and we had room number 6. Nice, big room, totally renovated. The breakfast was very good and fresh.
The reception was not often open, but with a key for the outside door, that was not really a problem.
Very quiet, warm, clean room.

Room Tip: Do not know the other rooms, bur number 6 can be recommended

Hotel room a little tired, socket hanging off the wall, wobbly toilet but overall nice and very clean. The receptionist was lovely, very polite, helpful and very knowledgeable of Ghent and the surrounding area. We asked for extra pillows on our first evening and they were on the bed on our return.
The breakfast was included in the package we paid but would not pay the extra for the breakfast otherwise as very mediocre.
We parked on site at a small extra charge which we felt worth it for peace of mind, the parking is in a garage attached to the hotel.
The location of the hotel is perfect, just a short walk to most of the local historic attractions.
Overall we had a lovely few nights in Ghent, well worth a visit. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to friends and family.
The bric-a-brac market on a Friday is well worth a visit.

Great hotel in easy walking distance of all the main attractions. Hotel has a bar and restaurant that are in line with town prices
Great rooms they are so big and clean, with bed and large sofas.
Car parking was safe and secure.
Down side was no life?

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

Our room was clean and comfy. The decor was a little dated but room was spotless and bathroom was new. The lobby area outside room 6 really smells of smoke. There's a little sitting area there and someone's been sucking back the durries. (The room was absolutely fine though). WiFi did not work in room whichever was frustrating but not a deal breaker.

Welcome was friendly and breakfast was generous continental. Pod Coffee machine in room, extra points for that!

Close to everything in centre of town and an easy tram ride from the st Peters train station.
