3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

I stayed one night with a group of friends in October.

The hotel is conveniently situated right opposite the station with the shopping and restaurant area close by. Parking is a short walk away.

There is no air-conditioning in the rooms which all have secondary double glazing. Leaving the window open for air allows the traffic noise in. The rooms were all very clean and the shower was superb!

The buffet-style breakfast was generous and included hot bacon and scrambled eggs along with the usual fresh bread, croissants, cold meats and cheese etc.

Overall a pleasant hotel despite the lack of aircon but at €101 per night we felt it was expensive for what we got. I can recommend for a short stay but there's probably better value to be had elsewhere.

Room Tip: The higher you are the less traffic noise you get!

the hotel is located right in front of namur cental train station, it is not expensive.
the hotel offers aprking space across the road for 6 euros for 24hs.
the rooms are very clean and neat, breakfast is available with extra charge of 7-10 euros.
the hotel also offers free wi-fi.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2010

As all other reviews have said, it is remarkably convenient, being just across the road from the station (which was handy for us as it was snowing when we arrived), close to the bus station and the tourist office, and only five to ten minutes walk or so from the town centre - and the area around is (or was on cold December evenings) livelier than the town centre.

Our room was not that large but perfectly adequate, and the king sized bed very comfortable. Although our room overlooked the side/main street junction, the double glazing cut out all sounds (and to comment on a previous reviewers complaint of it being cold, although our radiators were turned off when we arrived, it took less than half an hour for the room to be hot enough to turn one rad off!). The breakfast is good, although one word of advice - if you want the hot selection (bacon and scrambled egg), then get there early. We stayed four nights, and on two of them turned up for breakfast a little before nine and on both occasions the fried bacon (which was good) had gone, and on one the scrambled egg had also been had. Presumably these two hot items are not replaced when gone, unlike the rest which are. Nevertheless, it was a good selection. The other minor point is that although the rooms (or at least our room) was non-smoking, the corridor outside often smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and I can only assume the cleaners/room staff smoke in the corridors as it was too strong a smell for it to be someone just passing along to the lift.

Despite the two minor points, I would certainly stay there again if visiting Namur.

I first visited this hotel in 2004. Since then I have been there several times a year for my work. I can only recommend the place, for all that is said here. Perfectly located (I remember having to catch a train at 5am once and blessing the fact that I could sleep until 4.50am!), very clean, free wifi, generous breakfast (although the quality of the orange juice could be improved), but especially excellent service. Nowadays I know every member of staff and they know me, but since the first time they were all exquisitely kind.

Cold room. Took a day to heat up. In my opinion this should be done before you arrive.
Breakfast ok.

The hotel is located across the street from the main entrance of the railwaystation. It's a five-minute walk to the city centre, which is worth a visit. My room was quiet - it faced the back of the hotel. The room and bathroom were quite large and very clean. There was no noise from other rooms, although they were occupied. Hot water, TV, kettle and fridge all in order. Staff polite and helpful. Good value for money, especially considering the exorbitant prices in the area. I used the hotel for a business trip to Brussels: it was so convenient, I'll do it again and have the advantage of a much cheaper hotel, pleasant, in a good location, one-hour train ride to Brussels.

  • Liked — convenient location, staff helpful
