“Very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

Everything was nice. We had a great time for the 40th birthday of my wife.

People working in the hotel are helpful and friendly.

The food was excellent and the service was excellent.

The restaurant is nice and the service is excellent. The kitchen delivers traditional French food.

My wife and I have stayed here 5 times in recent years and have been impressed every time. The rooms are spacious and modern in decor and very quiet and relaxing. The restaurant brilliant with a varied menu and impressive wine list.

The rooms were modern and spacious, the restaurant was charming although portion sizes are very large so beware. The food was delicious and I did not do it justice because of the large portions, I was unable to finish the main course of venison .The owner is very friendly and the whole place has a very relaxed atmosphere.

We have just spent the week end at this lovely hotel celebrating a 65th with a group of friends. The bedrooms in the recently built annex were large & comfortable with super bathrooms. The sun deck on top with the spa and sauna was very inviting, clean and well equipped with towels. I think that the food surpassed all expectations - absolutely first class and Ruud couldn't have been more accommodating with any dietary requirements. The service was excellent - and the new young trainee waiter, who initially seemed quite daunted by such a demanding group of Brits, soon relaxed and was very hard working!
The parking was plentiful at the hotel and it is only a short walk into the little village of Stavelot with its numerous little bars, Abbey and Museum - well worth looking round. The hotel is only a few miles drive to Spa for the race track and motor museum and near Coo with its waterfalls and cable car. Altogether a really great hotel with no negative comments.

Room Tip: Rooms in the annex are quite near the road and some traffic noise could be heard - but not enough to...

This hotel combines the charme of an old mansion and the modern architecture of its residence annex. The rooms in the annex are tastefully equipped, stunning bathrooms, and on the top waits a spa area with a sauna and a steam bath and a terrace with a stunning view over Stavelot and its old abbey. The food we had that evening was clearly above even high expectations and star-level - never had a better ris de veaux in my life. Warm welcome, friendly staff and owners, and a generous breakfast which was complemented on Easter sunday with sparkling wine and decoration. Five minute walk from the center of Stavelot.

Ruud & Marion, the Dutch owners have turned this into a wonderful romantic comfortable country house hotel with marvellous food.
The facilities were excellent & it's worth dressing up for.
The food which Ruud had pre-agreed a change for my dietary restrictions was 1st class.
It was an excellent friendly up market experience as long as you can afford it.

This hotel has all of the necessary comfort. Big rainshower, soft beds, clean rooms, nice and friendly staff, a lot of parking available, good breakfast. Nothing negative to say.

The environment is not that impressive. Stavelot is a very small and calm town. If you like taking walks in nature then you are at the right spot. If you like to do some more, like some culture or meet people, this is not the place for you.
