“Overnight Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We had 2 overnight stays here on our way to/from Italy. The hotel was very busy with coach parties and cyclists, but managed to cope efficiently with check ins. Both rooms we had were very spacious with 2 comfortable double beds, the air conditioning was noisy so we just turned it off. Slept well and the self service breakfasts were good if a little chaotic with the amount of people staying there and the small dining area.

Recently stayed here for two nights on a stop over while travelling to and from Italy. The first thing is the hotel looks knackered. The first night our room had a working air conditioning unit and we needed it because it was a very hot and stuffy night but it was so worn out it sounded like a helicopter as hovering outside the room all night. The rooms on the whole need major renovation. The second time we stayed the air conditioning unit didn't work at all and looked like it hadn't been functional for years. There was a plank of wood jammed to stop the balcony does opening. The bathroom toilet was dirty and the shower curtain had mildew on it. The choice of meals in the restaurant was also very limited.

Staying with a coach party our check in was efficient. Rooms were large, but looking a bit dated. Bathroom was spacious and very nice. The hotel is quite a long walk from the centre of Liege although as we arrived late and only stayed one night this didn't matter. We only sampled the breakfast food, not dinner, but this was good and plentiful, The staff were also very friendly, would greet you in English with a smile. Bar service was a bit more frosty and the prices are eyewatering, especially as we'd just returned from Italy.

I think 20 years ago this would have been a high 4 star hotel by uk standards. Today it's a stable good 3 star. Outside looks average, even tired however inside is much much better. Food excellent, staff helpful, bar well stocked and crazily priced. The premier room I believe is much better than the standard, it's where I stayed. Room is simply huge which is nice, very clean although a touch dated but absolutely fine. I would certainly stay again and recommend it. It's not 4 star uk standard but if you going thinking 3 you won't be disappointed.

This is a very large hotel that is positioned beside a river but not necessarily close to anything else. Our arrival was OK... it was pleasant and efficent but not friendly. The rooms were large and there were nice bathroom products. However.... if staying in a room with an ajoining internal door to the next room it is noisy and you can hear everything! There is no or minimal sound-proofing with rooms with internal doors.

The hotel isn't really close to the main city centre and finding the things to see can be confusing if you've never been to Liege before. We couldn't really work out how or what to see from the infromation we were provided with at the hotel reception. Also, the hotel is not in walking distance from the train station and the pavement is not conducive to wheeling a suitcase - so catch a taxi if you have a lot of luggage.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms with internal ajoining doors

well placed just outside the city, basic gym facilities, with clean rooms and excellent reception staff. Not far from town so that you can pop in on foot by crossing the bridge easily enough.
one of my preferred places to stay when working in liege.
decent bar service downstairs but not a great example of Belgium cuisine.
Pizza is a supermarket pizza placed in the oven and the pasta is basic also.
However, in spite of being close to the traffic, much quieter than a place in the city centre and you can open your window and take in the sunset if you're in the right spot.
happy to go there again

Room Tip: rooms are basic but functional. choose a room away from the traffic if you want a quiet time, or fac...

A one night stopover on way to Koblenz, Rooms were very large and clean, and we had a view of the river which was nice. Breakfast was very nice and plenty of choice and well presented. Would highly recommend this hotel.
If you like Burgers Huggys Bar across the bridge well worth a visit

Room Tip: River View
