“Good position”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Very centrally located, next to the Opera House, which was the reason we chose it. It is easily accessible by the No.48 bus from the railway station. The rooms are well presented but a tad on the small side, it come become somewhat claustrophobic if it was necessary to spend any time in the room, but if you book early enough the price could allow you to book as an individual. The breakfast was fine with enough choice to suit most people, and the staff are extremely helpful. At the moment the local university if refurbishing the middle 3 floors, so unless you are staying over the weekend be prepared for some building noise, although I have to say it didn't disturb me too much.

I've been living here for 5 nights and even though you can hear the buses, people and construction work outside, I sink into the bed every night and relax. The weird noises coming from the drain in the bathroom are a mystery to me but I wish I could stay longer. Breakfast is wonderful!

Room Tip: Non-Smoker Rooms are opposite smoker rooms but definitely better air to be in!

The hotel is located in the city centre. The underground parking is available with separate fee. All the hotel facilites seemed in good condition from inside, altough the hotel building was under reconstruction in that time. So little noisy. The breakfast was standard.

I recently stayed at the Ibis Liege with my son while attending the belgium Grand Prix for which it is perfectly placed with transfer times to the circuit of between 50 minutes and an hour. The rooms and general interior is in good condition with a recently refurbished breakfast area, with aprticularly pleasant geberal reception area. Also whilst there I did not experience any of the construction noise complained of by previous reports-however major work is being carried out to the external elevations of the entire building. In summary this hotel is a good advert for the IBIS brand and I would stay again when in the area.

When you book an Ibis you expect a certain product. This one doesn't deliver in any way.

The rooms are tiny, outdated and shabby.
The windows don't open, even though they are the way onto the fire escape.
The plumbing is out of the 70s. It's all vacuum based, so every time the toilet is flushed, or the taps are run the pump starts up and it sounds like the room is going to be sucked in along with the water.
The building is shared with the University who are currently rebuilding their floors. This work starts at 7am. The first I knew about this work was when I was woken up. No advance warning from the hotel or Accor. If i'd been warned I would have stayed somewhere else automatically, but by the time i'd arrived it was too late - the city was full.

On a plus side the internet works (slowly) and is free! The staff are friendly enough, but don't really care.

Room Tip: Pick a different hotel

Friendly welcome at the hotel but not a very good night's sleep due to building work taking part from early in the morning. The room was comfortable and the bed very comfortable, but the bathroom needed a bit of a refresh.

I was very worried about my stay in this hotel due to the reviews I had read on this site. Turns out I had nothing to worry about.

I stayed at the hotel Friday - Monday during the Tour de France so will admit I did pay a premium for the room.

When you first get to the hotel it is a little worrying as the rest of the building is a building site, only the Reception area and the 5 and 6 floors actually belong to the hotel.

The reception staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotels floors and rooms are a little dated but in good condition. The room was small but spotless and had a really comfy bed.

I did not have breakfast at the hotel but there are a number of cafes below the hotel and around to eat.

I didn't think much of Liege but if I had to return I would stay here again.
