The guys who show you around are usually ex miners and usually have the gift of the gab. Very entertaining and interesting place to visit. Shows you mining through the ages. Don't wear light coloured clothes and wear sturdy footwear. It is quite confined in parts so anyone claustrophobic would be best not going. They give you a proper miners helmet with a lamp on it and down you go in the lift just like a real miner would. The blokes showing you round are great at making it a really interesting trip. I had a great laugh when I went with some friends but it was also very educational. I really loved it and would definitely go again.
