“Very tasty meal, great concept, service was slow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

The food was great, the concept is great. I really enjoyed the dishes.
The price is a little high, but I see why it could be justified given the level of attention to detail for each micro dish. Starters 10 euro, mains 27 euro, desserts about 8ish.
Wines start at 17 for house and average about 24 for a bottle.
The service was another story. Only two floor staff for the restaurant and while they were really pleasant and friendly, it just isn't enough for an entire restaurant of people. We had to call their attention on several occasions. They were very nice, but clearly understaffed.

“Yes, it was very cool but it changed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2011

Le point bar is this kind of place wherein you go because there're a lot of people around who have spoken about, and mostly about the concept. It's true, point bar, is one of the first "cuisine fusion" table of the town. A bit fashion, it was really fashion in brussels.
The menu and the varieties are quite original and you could definitely find a genuine interest eating in this nice restaurant in one of the most beautiful street of the Louise area two steps by the luxury shops avenue.

But to be honest I am gone only once to eat. The prices aren't justified at all and with time the value for money gone down.

“Fun & Delicious Food- Great Value for Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2011

I was surprised to find a few negative reviews here on TA, as Point Bar is my favorite restaurant in Brussels- and we eat out a lot. We also take our out-of-town friends and work colleagues here and it's never disappointed.

They have a changing 3-course menu that lets you choose from various interesting dishes. The food looks beautiful and tastes very good, and the portions are just right. As some folks already mentioned, everything's served in curious glassware and the sauces come in pipettes- reminds me of my chemistry studies.

The starter is ~10 euros and I think it's good value for money- the items change, but they've always been yummy with interesting flavors and fun presentation. One is enough for 2 people, especially if you plan to order dessert.

The dessert menu also changes, though the berry zabayone usually makes the cut- it's a medley of berries, lime icecream and zabayone- awesomeness! The coffees and cappucinos are also really good which I think is a big plus.

The decor is simple and clean. A bit minimalistic and not at all pretentious. The staff are courteous and also refreshingly unpretentious. I recommend making reservations. Enjoy!

“All style, no substance and a clear rip-off”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2010

This is one of the many trendy spots that Brussels hosts, functioning on the following recipe: one gimmick, snooty staff, so-so food and a high price tag.
The concept is amusing but not that original but the food was nothing to write home about: my asparagus risotto was cold, the truffle aroma was clearly a synthetic spray-on, the cod was overcooked and the rest just ordinary grub, served in fancy style and mini portions. I had to ask the waiter three times for a bottle of water and he still didn't bring it to us.
I paid 105 euros for two, wine excluded. This is what I call a rip-off: for this price tag, I could have enjoyed so many real restaurants in Brussels who serve delicious food. Frustrating experience!

“Like the concept, but not the food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2010

I have always liked the environment, the concept and the apéritif du maison. However, the food...You order three dishes (part of the 27EUR menu) and they are all served in glasses at the same time. The dishes are ok,but not very good. Most of it is prepared in advance and this, you can taste as well.I don't think that is appropriate for a restaurant of such a 'category'.For desert, I ordered a sabayon that wasn't even freshly prepared.
